The Blizzard Mountain Villa murders, theatrical scenes and curtain changes, Jacques Demy-style colors and singing and dancing, and French young, middle-aged and young actresses performing on the same stage are all formal elements. Multiple forms are nested layer by layer, character relationships are intricate, same-sex and bi-sex infidelity is complete, and under the carnival-like dazzling flower work, there is no effective core or true feelings. A work of style, but by no means a masterpiece.

The eight women at the end use their selfishness to drive a man to death, a blatant indictment of a gay director. There are different women in different eras, and women of different ages have different demands. They are all good at hiding themselves and will never tell the truth unless they are forced to. However, once they decide to reveal their own secrets, they will involuntarily expose the privacy of another person, and finally the harm to a man is the accumulation of power.

Catherine: Suzon, I forgot one thing. I heard a strange sound. I looked through Augustine's keyhole, and I saw her standing at the mirror with something shiny. I thought nothing of it, but now I'm sure she was sharpening a knife!
Augustine: You liar! I was holding my mother-of-pearl comb and cleaning it.
Gaby: At 3:00 am?
Augustine: Combs never sleep!

Suzon: Didn't you say you saw no-one?
Augustine: I forgot. I went for a drink.
Gaby: Or a prowl around Marcel's room! What happened?
Catherine: You'd know if you still slept with Dad.
Gaby: I'm being judged by my own child!
Pierrette: That's why I never had any.
Gaby: Just admit no man ever asked you to.
