An anachronism: At the beginning of the subtitles "1963, New Jersey", Henry can be seen leaning on a 1965 Chevy Impala.
An anachronism: Henry and others stood outside Idlewild Airport in 1963 with a Boeing 747 landing/take-off. The first test flight of the 747 was in 1969, and the official operation began in 1970.
Continuity: When Karen pointed a gun at Henry's face, both the close-up and long shots showed another gun.
Continuity: When Karen visits Henry in prison, the cheese and salami on the table change positions between shots.
Anachronism: Before the end of the film, when Henry drove out to watch the helicopter, a bag of Winston cigarettes could be seen on the dashboard of his car. This specially designed cigarette package has a gold eagle on it. The earliest production time was 1987, many years later than the time when the film took place.
Error found: Tommy killed Murray from the back of the car, but it is still obvious that Murray is breathing in the lower left corner of the screen.
An anachronism: At the end of the film, where Karen shot Jimmy, the street signs that can be seen in the film did not appear until at least 1985, five years later than the scene. These street signs should be black on a white background, not green on a white background.
An anachronism: When we first saw Pauli's home, we could clearly see a TV cable outside. In fact, it was not until the 1980s that there were TV cables in suburban New York towns, which was more than ten years later than the time when the movie took place.

Goodfellas quotes

  • Henry Hill: [With the suitcase open on the desk, Henry counts out stacks of cash] Thirty-five, forty, forty-five, fifty, sixty thousand.

Jimmy Conway: It's gonna be a good summer.

  • [last lines]

Henry Hill: [narrating] Anything I wanted was a phone call away. Free cars. The keys to a dozen hideout flats all over the city. I bet twenty, thirty grand over a weekend and then I'd either blow the winnings in a week or go to the sharks to pay back the bookies.

[Henry leaves the witness stand and speaks directly to the camera]

Henry Hill: Didn't matter. It didn't mean anything. When I was broke, I'd go out and rob some more. We ran everything. We paid off cops. We paid off lawyers. We paid off judges. Everybody had their hands out. Everything was for the taking. And now it's all over.

    [narrating]

Henry Hill: And that's the hardest part. Today everything is different; there's no action... have to wait around like everyone else. Can't even get decent food - right after I got here, I ordered some spaghetti with marinara sauce, and I got egg noodles and ketchup. I'm an average nobody... get to live the rest of my life like a schnook.
