The Establishing Shot and Ending Shot are superbly shot, but the middle of each scene doesn't make sense, and the widescreen often has space redundancy. The way the group images are linked is mainly a radio-like never-ending soundtrack, sometimes ironic, sometimes lazy. It's still a lot worse than "The Other Side of the Wind". It wasn't until Barbara Jane took the stage to sing that the first moment of emotional flow came. Altman's use of the actor's signs is a little too crude.
