      Burn it, die together

"They are the wild grass dancing in the hurricane, and the camel crushed by the last straw; they seek a bloody way in the bombardment, and perish together in the lonely glory."

Fassbender makes the characters walk between the various spaces divided by walls. The depth, foreground design and camera...

      A puff of smoke

The story is so realistic, it's so cramped that it takes your breath away.
Maria is a strong woman, she is smart, persistent, flexible and resilient, and her beauty and temperament extraordinary feminine charm makes all men irresistible. Whether it's an American soldier or a French boss, her...

I'm ashamed to say that this is the first Fassbender movie I've ever seen. The reason why this director is so famous is firstly because he is the only one of the four new German film stars who died, secondly because of his peculiar life experience, thirdly because he can perfectly combine popularization and art, traditional narrative and Perfect combination of philosophical criticism. I'm ashamed, this is the third time I've watched this movie, and the first two times I gave up around ten minutes. It's really not good. If you can't even watch such a film, how can other art films be appreciated? But, happily, I do see my progress. This movie is beautiful.

The first of Fassbender's "Women's Trilogy", won the Berlin Special Achievement Award. 1. The actress Hannah Xugula, the Queen of France X, was crowned as the Best Actress in Berlin with her superb acting skills. 2. The social and economic situation after Germany's defeat is reflected by the fate of the heroine. 3. Begin with artillery fire and end with explosions. 4. I thought the ending was too deliberate, dropped the star, and overlapped with the picture with the broadcast sound of Germany winning the World Cup in Switzerland in 1954, resulting in an ironic effect of tragicomedy intertwined. 5. Love is colder than death. (7.5/10)

The Marriage of Maria Braun quotes

    • Maria Braun: And Annelise - what's she like?

Willi Klenze: She's what a man needs, someone who is his equal. She can talk, think - my equal in every way.

Maria Braun: So you think women have to be men's equal?

Willi Klenze: Sure, except most men aren't conscious of it yet. 'Consciousness lags behind reality.'

Maria Braun: Did Annelise say that?

      Willi Klenze: Why?

Maria Braun: You'll wish you had your Betti back.

    • Maria Braun: She shares my food and my lies. But she lets me do all the thinking.
