    Early Experience

James Dean was born in a small town in Indiana on February 8, 1931. His father was a dentist and his mother was the daughter of a farmer. The family moved to California at the age of 4. Influenced by his mother since childhood, he loved art and poetry, and his mother also gave him obvious encouragement. When Dean was 8 years old, his mother died of cancer   .
After that, he spent an unsocial boyhood on his aunt's farm in Indiana. Only performances and sports can make him enthusiastic. After graduating from high school, James went to Los Angeles to defect to his father. However, under his father's opposition, James failed to major in his favorite acting subject, but he still taught himself various acting courses and soon emerged in campus drama. After being introduced by a friend, James went to New York to apply for an actor studio   .

    James Dean passes away

James Dean had a bad habit when he was alive, that is speeding. On September 30, 1955, James Dean accidentally collided with a Ford car due to speeding, and the car crashed and died. After James Dean died, his body was buried in Fairmont Park Cemetery .

    Character Evaluation

Dean's ideals have been branded with too much growth pain, which does not prevent him from becoming a spiritual giant. His performance destroyed the traditional way of performing arts, and at the same time changed the way people think. Although I dare not say whether the future punk trend is related to him, at least it is certain that he is a conscious forerunner who reflects on philosophy and has influenced countless latecomers. Behind Dean's hangout outfit, one can see a sincere heart, which may be rebellious and a bit bad, but still beautiful   . ( )
For Europeans and Americans born after the mid-1940s, they can never bypass a young man who has only lived for 24 years in their youth coordinates, and this young man is James Dean. In "Rebel Without a Cause", no matter how James Dean redeems his soul in the movie, he always fights against everything in front of him with a lonely figure, even if he squints his eyes and roots in the play. The folds of the cigarette smiled without detracting from his young and handsome face   . ( )

It’s just a few short comments

After reading it, maybe there are some reasons for my personality, but it is undeniable that James is great. The opening scene was confusing and inexplicable. Like many people’s opinion, he was bad and crazy. Later, I gradually understood the whole story. I feel more and more distressed about this...

"East of Eden", also known as "Mom Sorcerer" and "East of Eden" (1955)

This is an excellent drama. There are some similarities with "Doll's House", and both explain the true meaning of love in family ethical events, except that "Doll's House" achieves a fierce and clear realistic political orientation by exposing the truth. "The East" discusses a more fundamental and...

    East of Eden quotes

    • [refusing Cal's gift of money]

Adam Trask: If you want to give me a present, give me a good life. That's something I can value.

    • [Abra pleads with Adam to reconcile with his son]

Abra: Mr. Trask, it's awful not to be loved. It's the worst thing in the world. Don't ask me - even if you could - how I know that. I just know it. It makes you mean, and violent, and cruel. And that's the way Cal has always felt, Mr. Trask. All his life! Maybe you didn't mean it that way - but it's true. You never gave him your love. You never asked for his. You never asked him for one thing.
