about the future, happiness or desire

It's nice to have a movie like this that gets caught up in great music right from the start, at least it keeps the less dynamic picture simple and unadorned. Straight to the point, the first clip of the film cuts to the point: I worry about the future.

The confused youth that has nowhere to rest

In the elegant and sad melody of "Sound of Silence", which is already a classic today, Ben walks home from graduation with a heavy suitcase and the whole family's heavy hopes. He was still so quiet and young, only the occasional figure of a young girl passed by, would he turn his head to look at...

I know what's good about it and why it's a classic, but I really don't feel the whole process. Movies like youth, anxiety, confusion, cruelty, inexplicable tossing, inexplicable love-hate, no matter how I look at it, I think it's too much. Maybe it's because I haven't been confused at all, I know what I am and what I want very early on.

Well, Ben has become my most hated movie hero, a "Hiroshima love" type of character, who will only blindly say let's get married, regardless of whether the woman agrees or not, he talks to himself. Speaking from the play, he never dared to face the affair of Ben and Irene's mother, and never thought of solving it. Talking with Irene's mother in bed about the details of how to have sex with her husband, how Irene was born is really disgusting. I keep asking you if you think I'm not worthy of your daughter, and indeed, you just don't. The way the movie makes the audience expect Ben and Irene to be together is to make Ben even more miserable, driven by the landlord, stopped by his father, abandoned by Irene, chasing a car and running a series of things. But it can only prove the failure of this character from another angle, which is not worthy of the episode.

    The Graduate quotes

    • [first lines]

Pilot: Ladies and gentlemen, we are about to begin our descent into Los Angeles. The sound you just heard is the landing gear locking into place. Los Angeles weather is clear; temperature is 72. We expect to make our 4 hour and 18 minute flight on schedule. We have enjoyed having you on board, and look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

    • [Mrs. Robinson comes into Elaine's room, naked, and locks the door with Benjamin inside with her]

Benjamin: Oh God. Oh, let me out.

      Mrs. Robinson: Don't be nervous.

Benjamin: Get away from that door.

Mrs. Robinson: I want to say something first.

      Benjamin: Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Robinson: Benjamin, I want you to know that I'm available to you, and if you won't sleep with me this time...

      Benjamin: Oh, my Christ.

Mrs. Robinson: If you won't sleep with me this time I want you to know that you can call me up anytime you want and we'll make some kind of arrangement.

      Benjamin: Oh...

Mrs. Robinson: Do you understand what I...

      Benjamin: Let me out.

Mrs. Robinson: Benjamin, do you understand what I just said?

Benjamin: Yes! Yes. Let me out!

Mrs. Robinson: I find you very attractive.
