In 1948, she played the heroine Ophelia in " hamlet " directed by Laurence Olivier , and won the Best Actress Award at the 13th Venice International Film Festival [3] , and was nominated for Best Actress Oscar. In 1950, he moved to the United States with his husband and went to Hollywood to develop [1] . In 1955, he co-starred in the movie " Guys and Dolls " with Marlon Brando [1] and won the 13th American Film and Television Ballon d'Or Best Actress [3] . In 1960, he appeared in the movie " Spartacus " [1] . In the 1970s, Jean Simmons gradually faded out of the big screen and began guest appearances in TV series. In 1983, by starring in the TV series " The Thorn Birds     "Won the 35th Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Movie [3]  . [1]  In 1993, he was awarded an Honorary Fellow of the British Academy of Film .
    On January 22, 2010, Jean Simmons passed away at his home in Santa Monica, California, at the age of 80 [4]  .
