Gatsby without disillusionment is not a good Gatsby.
There is not much to say, I can only say that this movie missed the most beautiful part of the original work.

Successful movies are different, and failed movies are the same
Successful movies have their own characteristics, and failed movies will fail on one point: contrived and false.
"The Great Gatsby" has gorgeous scenes and sophisticated props, but the characters have no characteristics and soulless. From the beginning to the end, it seemed that I watched...

Ruman has always mixed and matched (chaotic mix) styles, Jay-Z and Khan are everywhere. I just finished reading the original work and the 1974 version, so I obviously feel that many interesting details have been cut off. It is a pity (what is the following short comment that is loyal to the original work?), and even reshaped Daisy’s character. Not that annoying; and the whole story was filmed into a superficial love story, the so-called elegy of the jazz age and the disillusionment of the American dream, are they all shattered?
