Michel Franco is more interested in experimenting and discovering his own stylistic approach than following the traditional filmmaking methods of other Directors. In his opinion, a filmmaker should not try to put all the ideas in his head into his film; instead, he should focus on a specific theme and present it as clearly as possible. He prefers to tell stories about family members in trouble   . Considered one of Mexico's great artists, he builds his work from the exploration of the family   ; highly dramatic, sober shots are the hallmark of his work   .
