Mix and match styles lead to loss of taste

Very happy "road adventure" + "escape" mode. When it was released that year, it should be said that it gave a very vivid education about war-themed films in China; however, we finally found that the only thing we learned was the thick skin of making up "divine dramas".

      Looking back now, I still...

Barely pass. I fell asleep watching the original sound version. After all, the commercial filming method in the 1960s was too old-fashioned and rigid, and the actors’ intonations did not fluctuate. The male protagonist was as old as a piece of mustard. The story itself is quite new. The British officers and soldiers were deadlocked with the commander of the Italian prisoner of war camp. The captured American colonel eased the situation with his military rank. After Italy surrendered, this group of people was taken over by the German army and they had to flee from the train bound for Germany. ...it captures the life-like behavior of people behind the war, and uses it to make jokes, like the Gestapo who creates tension but is actually a salesman. The priest, who reluctantly played the role of a Nazi officer, quickly entered the play and fainted as soon as he returned to the train. There are Italian people who hate Germans everywhere. The scene where the plane blocks the train at the end of the film also cost a lot. Sinatra played a relatively pure humanitarian. Based on this, he reconciled the contradictions in the prisoner of war camp, united the Italian captain, and finally sacrificed himself in the chaos, which was somewhat religious. I don't know what the scene between the Italian girl and the British officer is. Maybe it's trying to show the human side of the soldier, but the point of the scene is wrong.

So a carload of British + an Italian managed to escape, and 8 American prisoners of war, including the protagonist, died in the end and became heroes? The only female character is a bit redundant, and it's a classic '60s war movie anyway. The screenwriter is serious and responsible, the plot is tight and tense, funny jokes, and fierce scenes of gunfights are all there, classic!

    Von Ryan's Express quotes

    • Maj. Eric Fincham: You'll get your Iron Cross now, "Von" Ryan!

    • Sergeant Bostick: [referring to Fincham and the Britsh] It took 200 years to turn out these men, Sergeant. It took me 90 days.

      Sergeant Bostick: They're nuts, sir.

Colonel Joseph L. Ryan: Maybe so, but it's their ball game.

Private Ames: And we're still shut out!

Corporal Giannini: We did that good with just a sergeant!

Private Ames: Now we got us a bird-colonel.

Colonel Joseph L. Ryan: A bird colonel outranks a bird brain... clear?

Corporal Giannini: [contemtuously after Ryan walks away] Bird is right... chicken!

Sergeant Bostick: OK, OK, now we know we're on our own.
