Unexpectedly, the adopted son turned against him on the way, making this journey of driving cattle that traveled thousands of miles even more difficult and dangerous. From the script structure to the image of nature, the film has given full play to the grandeur of Western movies. John. Wayne plays the owner of the ranch, and Clift plays the adopted son. The film became an instant hit. The spectacular scene of the cattle crossing the Red River is the climax of the whole film.

      Cowboy's Song of Life

I have seen many versions of the "Top Ten Classic Western Movies", but almost all of them are "Red River" by Howard Hawks. It's a classic from Hollywood's heyday.
"Red River" is based on material that is very different from previous and subsequent Westerns. There is no confrontation between justice and evil in the film, and there is no fierce gunfight between police and gangsters. It just tells the very "ordinary" life of a group of cowboys, but this is a photo of their entire lives....

Solve the love between men by force

I can't even tell which of John Wayne and Gregory Pike was earlier, but from the black and white I watched, I became obsessed with him. In college, in the movie appreciation class, in the dark classroom, the teacher stared at the computer like a mummy, on the projector, and whispered below.
It's useless to talk nonsense, but fortunately this film, the story is narrated, there is some flavor, because it's ashamed to say, this is the first Western movie I watched, the first movie where...

      Big Hormones Package

Compared to the American West, we don't seem to be men; compared to the American West, we all seem to be living in a bottle.
How many times have I dreamed of going to the west, how many times I have worshipped that man's key word: rough. Contains bravery, contains love, contains conquest, contains self.
I like this film because he didn't let John Wayne be a hero to the end; I
like this film because its life and death are determined by the rules of the game; I
      like this film...

Good-looking western movie "Red River" and the love life of Montgomery inside and outside the movie Fang Hanjun

The leaders of the French "New Wave", especially Godard, admired such famous directors as John Ford, Howard Hawks and Nicholas Ray. He felt that was the real film language. Bazin is also not stingy with praise, and believes that Westerns are destined to be an unsurpassed genre. Not only them, but even big directors such as Yasujiro Ozu, Akira Kurosawa, Fellini, Bergman, etc., have always liked the films of these famous Western directors, although their image styles are...

      "Red River" in Western Cursive

"Red River" is Howard W. Hawks's 1948 film and one of Hawks' two most successful westerns (the other being "The Bloody Dragon"). The director who laid the foundation of the Hollywood gangster film (the 1932 version of "Scarface") is talented and has injected a different vitality into this film, which continues the classic tradition of the West, and has a long history of filming. The film is majestic and exciting. It not only shows the magnificence of nature, but also reproduces a historical...

Wayne is a true icon, but not quite a star, or technically a good actor. How lucky is he to be able to play so many colorful characters, but no matter what character he plays, it's all about that kind of virtue. He is best suited to play the kind of hero who can see through at a...

The woman's intervention is somewhat dull: she doesn't change anything. So the film wasted on her is really not worth it. This is the story of father and son. With or without the intervention of a daughter-in-law, their relationship will go from "education and dependence" to "roughness and resistance" to "tolerance and understanding". One less. If the time wasted on women is used to describe the complex mentality of the father on the way of "chasing and killing", and to pave the way for the...

The movie is very atmospheric, the herd, Wayne, Montgomery is very handsome, and the ending is very warm, how could two people who are in love with father and son draw guns to each other, I am as worried as that...

    Movie plot

"The Valley of the Red River" tells the story of one day in August 1861. A team of caravans from St. Louis to California was about to reach the Texas border. Team member Thomas Dunson left the team and went south, and his partner Groot followed him. His lover, Finn, stayed, and Dunson gave her a bracelet as a token. Dunson and others arrived at the Red River robbery in Sidehammer, Texas, and found this bracelet from the hands of an...

    • Thomas Dunson: Take 'em to Missouri, Matt!

    • Thomas Dunson: Cherry was right. You're soft, you should have let 'em kill me, 'cause I'm gonna kill you. I'll catch up with ya. I don't know when, but I'll catch up. Every time you turn around, expect to see me, 'cause one time you'll turn around and I'll be there. I'm gonna kill ya, Matt.
