Dark Invasion 1: Seemingly bloody and violent, it is actually a double-line metaphor

In 2020, I will write a review of the 2005 movie. It's still weird ( ´◔ ‸◔`). But this is also my first time writing a film review, I hope it can bring you different understandings and opinions.

Video content:

Sarah lost her husband and daughter in a car accident. A year later, she was not completely out of the shadows, and she was dragged by five other girlfriends to explore the cave (something they used to do). Captain Juno started this adventure with a group of six people, but this time Juno did not go to the known cave as agreed, but led the way to an unknown cave without telling everyone. In this cave, they first fumbled for a way out, and later they encountered terrifying man-eating monsters. Under the attack of dozens of monsters, in the end, only the heroine crawled out of the hole covered in blood and escaped.

I come here to see the movie reviews for the analysis, so I don't have much bb, let's start the text.

1. The first is the adultery scene between the captain Juno and the heroine's husband.

①At the beginning of the film, when you haven't recognized who is who, you may overlook a little detail. That was the scene when the heroine and husband held hands and lifted Juno up from the swimming pool. The affectionate eyes of the two of them, tsk tsk, this has already explained the problem. Audiences who don't know why thought they were husband and wife (*¯ㅿ¯*;).

②Then there was an accident when the heroine and her husband had an accident. At that time, the heroine was in the co-pilot and the hero was driving, but her face was full of sadness, as if she had something on her mind. This last scene happened to be a mental derailment between him and Juno, and it was self-evident what he was worried about. And the next second, a car accident happened. So in the final analysis, this accident Juno is to account for part of the reason.

③In the cave, after the tunnel collapsed, Juno said to the heroine, "It's not just you who lost a lot in that car accident." It seems that Juno still has feelings for the male lead.

④After Beth was accidentally injured by Juno, the heroine came to the dying Beth. Beth told the heroine not to believe Juno and gave the heroine a necklace. The hostess seemed to be enlightened when she saw the necklace. That necklace says "love each day", yes, it's a love necklace. The heroine must have recognized this necklace and understood the adultery between Juno and her deceased husband, and Beth always knew that Juno had an affair with the heroine's husband.

2. About caves and monsters

①The pictures in the cave, the road signs, the climbing hooks from a hundred years ago, and no explanation at the end, all tell that there is a second part of this movie, and the second part is about the secret behind these monsters. The monster has been determined to be a human, but why? how long? These questions are also reserved for the second part.

② Regarding the presence of monsters in the cave, there was actually a hint before entering the cave. That is, on the way to the cave, they found a cow that died strangely. In fact, this is the fact that the monsters in the cave occasionally come to the ground to prey on.

3. Why did the hostess give Juno a pick in the knee at the end?

I think the reason for this is obvious, because there are so many reasons to do this. ① I cheated on my husband; ② I took us to such a ghost place; ③ I sold my teammate Beth; ④ I sold my teammates and didn’t admit it;

4. What does the ending mean? Did the heroine come out?

I can tell you with certainty that the heroine came out, because the second part said (hahahahaha).

Well, in fact, to understand this question, you should understand the double line metaphor in the title. That is, the heroine is the core, and the development of the incident is actually corresponding to the psychological situation of the heroine.

①In the year after the accident, the heroine has been in pain. It is precisely because of this that the group of girlfriends will organize this expedition, hoping to bring back the joy of the heroine before. But the heroine's mood is still like that cave, depressing and gloomy, and there are invisible dangers behind it. On behalf of the heroine, she has been immersed in the grief of losing her family, and she has never known that there are hidden feelings. In the cave, everything erupted. She knew what happened between Juno and her husband, and that monsters were chasing them all the time. She could only give it a go and escape.

②When she sold Juno and climbed to the light at the entrance of the cave, the audience was also excited and nervous for her. When she stuck her head out to take a breath of air, the audience seemed to smell the refreshing freshness. This also means that she has gotten rid of the past, got rid of Juno, and even cares less about her husband's death.

③But! The plot reverses again, when she gets back in the car, she sees Juno's ghost in the passenger seat, and the next second, she reappears in that cave. Many people thought that the heroine had been dreaming before and never escaped from the cave at all. Actually not, this means that although the heroine escaped from the cave, she is not so heartless, and she will blame herself for the rest of her life for selling Juno. And the dead daughter's heart has not been resolved. The psychological darkness has never faded, and this feeling is like returning to that cave. So the last shot can be understood as abstract and concrete. It's like the director standing on the side, proudly designing the plot, and laughing at the heroine: You can't escape!

———————————————

Conclusion:

You may think this is a brainless and bloody movie like "Death Bend", but it's not. The director's foreshadowing in the early stage and the abstract metaphor at the end mean that his ambitions go beyond that. Do you think the real horror is the cave and the monsters in it? No, the real horror is like the heroine, who escaped from the cave, but couldn't escape the vicious circle of inner circle.
