A few things I don't understand

There are a few things that a good movie doesn't understand.

The first point is does rosemary's previous tenant really exist? If so why put the cabinet against that door?

Second, what does the existence of the woman who jumped off the building inexplicably mean? Why die?

Thirdly, what do the lines of the nun and Mary mean when Mary lies in bed after the woman who jumped off the building? ? ? I don't understand at all.

Fourth, what is tannis? Confused?

In the end, the heroine is already very smart, but she still hasn't resisted everyone's deception. The ending is frustrating and sad.

Polanski's usual method is to hide the horrors of human nature through the description of the everyday middle class, and finally burst out to the world. Even "Shadow Writer" is like this, without the suspense setting of Old Martin's "Shutter Island". As an inner horror mapping society, films like Polanski can be regarded as a model, and Aronofsky, who learns from his style, further strengthens the inner horror, but marginalizes the social attributes.

The suspense and the sense of oppression are really unforgettable. They have been mentally oppressed until the final revealing of the ending. Although there is no horror scene, I really feel a strong sense of unease and tension after watching it in one breath. Polanski's overall level of control is indeed too powerful. The whole film is super smooth and there is no trace of processing. 9.2 points★★★★☆

Rosemary's Baby quotes

  • Minnie Castevet: As long as she ate the mouse, she can't see nor hear. Now sing.

  • Mrs. John F. Kennedy: I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.

Rosemary Woodhouse: It's just a mouse bite.

Mrs. John F. Kennedy: Perhaps you'd better have your legs tied down in case of convulsions.

Rosemary Woodhouse: Yes, I suppose so. If it was rabid...

Mrs. John F. Kennedy: If the music bothers you, please let me know and I'll have it stopped.

Rosemary Woodhouse: Oh, no, no, no. Please don't change the program on my account...

Mrs. John F. Kennedy: All right. Now, try to sleep. We'll be waiting for you up on deck.
