Oz country (OZ)? The Wizard of Oz?

There was no Dorothy, no scarecrow, no tin man, and no lion, but the Emerald City, the witches of good and evil, and the long road leading to various cities all revealed a familiar atmosphere.

Because of some small changes in personal life, I was a little lost, and I couldn't wait to invite someone to watch this Disney's Wonderland to resolve a little chaotic mood. Since it was another viewing without a preview, I didn't even know that this should be regarded as a prequel to The Wizard of Oz (The Adventures of OZ Country).

The first few minutes of the film are black and white nostalgic 4:3 ratio images, and after entering the world of OZ, they gradually expand into widescreen color images. Compared with the orthodox fairy tale plot, maybe everyone cares more about the picture effect of the film. The IMAX 3D version really feels good.

A person with flaws enters the fairy tale world and accidentally becomes the savior, helping the people here to free themselves from the rule of the bad witch. The only dramatic turn in the whole film is to distinguish who is the bad witch. The story is simple and orthodox, not difficult to understand, suitable for children to watch. Given that it is a prequel to The Adventures of OZ, the ending is inevitable.

I simply flipped through the movie reviews and found that many of the reviews were quite extreme. While it does seem a bit bland, it's more than enough for a fairy tale with a lot of detail to taste.

After all, the relationship between the monkey and the assistant in the real world, the little china girl and the girl in the wheelchair in reality, the white witch and the girlfriend in reality, these correspondences are not what many people can directly notice when they first look at them. (Each pair of corresponding characters is played by the same person).

In reality, I didn't realize the friendship with my assistant, but I felt it in the relationship between OZ and the monkey. In reality, I couldn't get the wheelchair girl to stand up, but I glued the porcelain girl's legs in OZ. In reality, He did not respond to his girlfriend's expectations, but the White Witch's expectations were fulfilled in OZ. In reality, the protagonist is just an irresponsible magician, but in the OZ country he finally recognized his responsibility and completed it with courage and wisdom.

I didn't really notice the above when I watched the movie, but the hat that the protagonist gave to the monkey at the end, I remembered the hat that Dorothy used to summon the flying monkey, it should be this one. After that, the magician will stay in OZ for a long time until Dorothy appears.

An orthodox fairy tale, perhaps looking at it with an orthodox and pure heart, can taste the happiness in it more.

In this complex world, our hearts will be muddy all the time by chaotic things. When we become more and more confused, we return to simplicity, but we can taste the real meaning better.

The second half of the story borrowed to a certain extent from Mark Twain's "The Conn. Yankee Who Wandered into Arthur's Palace", which is very suitable to be transferred to the film. And as the prequel to the 39-year movie "The Wizard of Oz", it is a tribute to the characters, scenes, costumes, props and shooting techniques. The origin of the witch, the poppy garden, etc. respond to the original work. Audiences who like the 39th version of "The Wizard of Oz" must watch this film.
