"Dream Factory" presents its most beautiful dream

In the past two years of American cartoons, no film has reached such a high level of 3D effects, story structure and completion of each scene. "Crazy Primitives" is undoubtedly the "most beautiful dream" that "DreamWorks" has ever dedicated to, and a "textbook-style American cartoon".
It is said that it is the most beautiful dream because of its extraordinary storytelling, laughing fruit production and 3D scenes. In fact, compared with "Rio Adventure", "Madagascar 3", and "Ice Age 3", the story of "Crazy Primitives" itself is not much new. The protagonists are all through a big escape to usher in a new day - but it is particularly well told.
The story takes place in an era when cavemen and Homo sapiens coexisted, with ancient primitive people as the protagonists, bringing alienation and curiosity to the audience. While creating alienation and curiosity, the screenwriter did not forget to modernize the characters. Although cavemen slept in caves and stole bird eggs for breakfast, they would take pictures like modern humans, by slamming a stone slab into the face to leave an imprint. The way they take a bath is to hang it up and knock it twice. Such a bridge section is ingeniously connected with modern life, which makes people smile. At the same time, everyone in the caveman Gulu's family has a distinct personality and is full of laughter. "Brother Gua" always hugs everyone together when they sleep, forming a ball, including grandma, mother, Xiaoyi, tank and crazy sister. The baby sister who seems to have no role in it, because she can run faster than a rabbit, she is simply a crazy iron-toothed animal.
When I took my five-year-old son to watch the film, the theater was filled with laughter and screams of children, as well as imitations of the voices of the people in the play. This kind of forgetfulness of children is something I have never felt when watching other excellent cartoons in the past two years.
As for the 3D vision, the Gollum family and Guy will experience forests, deserts, oceans, valleys, lava, and landslides and fissures on their way to find "tomorrow". The animals encountered on the road are dizzying, each of which is magical but familiar. The director combines the characteristics of two known animals into a new cute thing, bringing wonderful and lovely visual effects. For example, hippo plus fish, parrot plus tiger, crocodile plus dog... All these scenes are suitable for the big screen 3D display.
Its "textbook style" is reflected in its delicate structure and "Americanness". After the film was released, I have seen fans cut its story into twelve paragraphs, and analyze the success of its screenwriting section by section. Indeed, compared to the other films before it, it is well-detailed, compact and vivid. The character and scene design of the script is perfect.
The establishment of "Americanness" must be compared with cartoons from other countries, such as Hayao Miyazaki. Unlike Miyazaki's cartoons, who are "revered as gods by Disney" (in Roger Ebert's language), Miyazaki's animations are more for adults, focusing on stories of depth and complexity. American cartoon stories are much simpler and are really for children. Its narrative pursuit is also similar to that of "American blockbusters": abandoning the profound, and keen to create a splendid and crazy carnival like a roller coaster.
Of course, while making this kind of carnival, American directors have never forgotten to export their "American modern values", which are almost the opposite of our "main theme". In addition to family affection and love, they also praised "freedom, adventurous spirit, wisdom, and creativity", the latter being more important than the former. It is not difficult to see that in "Crazy Primitives", the caveman Gulu's father "Gulu", daughter "Xiaoyi", and Homo sapiens "Gai" represent "tradition", "adventurous spirit" and "adventurous spirit" respectively. A new enlightenment of wisdom". Xiaoyi can go against tradition for freedom and adventure.
If American movies are compared to making burgers, "freedom, adventurous spirit, wisdom, creativity, love, family affection" is the stuffing of this burger. By mass-producing these "sandwich burgers" that represent modern civilization, they have cultivated children's cognition, and gradually defined the universal value of the world through strong technology and the ability of screenwriters and directors.
All in all, this is an unmissable cartoon, and it's played to the fullest in every aspect. If someone asked me to predict next year's Oscar winners, it would be the animation award.
