"Puzzle Game"-a good movie that is easy to miss

A film that is often ignored by people as a comedy or a light-hearted literary film. To be honest, the goodness of the name really matters.

The name of the film was taken from the name of a TV show in the late 1950s (when TVs were just popularized). It is similar to the "Lucky 52" hosted by CCTV Li Yong. It is an ordinary level-breaking game with generous bonuses, which drives the entire United States crazy. But behind the show, there is another shady...

In fact, as far as the plot of the film is concerned, the old-fashioned Hollywood narrative method is still continued: an ordinary person who has been manipulated to obtain a bonus is told that he is no longer needed. And let him leave people's worship on a simple subject that he would meet. He was replaced by Fan Duolun, a handsome and distinguished university lecturer. The unwilling Herb sued the puzzle game for cheating, but the investigation result was sealed by the court. A lawyer (Harvard Law School graduated with first place) Guwen sniffed out the clues and determined to find out the truth. So the investigation started from many aspects such as TV program producers, program directors, program sponsors, program contestants, etc., and finally came to light. But when the real trial began, Guwen found that things were far from as simple as he expected...

just in such an old-fashioned plot, I discovered the difference in the film.

What impressed me most was the heavy and colorful depiction of the characters in the film: Herb's slightly neurotic cowardice, Guwen's perseverance, and Van Duolun's vanity that he wanted to get rid of the fetters of the family were all very vivid. No one can imagine that Herb actually sued the puzzle game for Van Doren's failure to shake hands with him. This is his character.

What I like most is the sympathy between Guwen and Van Dolen in the film. Guwen was suspicious and sad about Van Duolun at first, but was overwhelmed by Van Duolun’s own personal charm. He begged Van Duolun not to appear at the trial, even though he knew that Van Duolun’s arguments were right. How important is the final win or loss. And Van Doren finally provided testimony accompanied by his parents, admitting that he cheated during the game.

The best part of the film is at the end. Obviously many people are correcting, but the TV station and program sponsors still moved out a scapegoat-the program director. What's even more surprising is that this person knows that he is a scapegoat but still takes the blame. In the eyes of outsiders, this lawsuit was won, but Gu Wen knew well that he lost. The irony is that after a few years in jail, the program director returned to the world, and joined hands with the station and sponsors to make a new TV show in full swing, and he also rose to fame; Fan Duolun, this finally bravely stood The gentleman who came out to tell the truth was forever disqualified as a university lecturer, and the Van Duolen family’s status in academia was forever banned; and Guwen, this young lawyer who was once inconsistent with television, was killed by Kennedy because of this lawsuit. The family valued it and became a strong backing for Kennedy when he was running for president. If I remember correctly, President Kennedy’s campaign was broadcast live on TV for the first time in the history of the US presidential campaign...

In 1994, it was really a masterpiece. Today, TV shows are entertainment activities and there is no need to be serious.

Although the theme expressed in the film is very thought-provoking, the [Shock Inside Story] with the same story frame is better, that is, the expression of the theme is not compatible with the narrative perspective.
