Medical school academic female puzzles-everyone understands wrongly, this is not a lesbian love movie, nor does it talk about same-sex love! ! !

When I watched the movie "Boys Don't Cry" for the first time in high school, I thought it was a movie about Lara’s love. For the second female in the film, Lana knew the protagonist Brandon. /Tina's decision to stay with him/her after her body gender was female, I once naively thought "because of love" and "love does not distinguish between genders."
However, after 7 years in medical school, I finally understood that this is a film about transgender people.
First of all, sexual orientation is innate and unchangeable. A person is born heterosexual and heterosexual throughout his life. The same is true for homosexuals and bisexuals. This is the reason why the medical circles all over the world exclude homosexuality from "mental disorders and mental disorders". It is also the basis and starting point of the vigorous affirmative movement of comrades.
In other words, the straight ones will not be broken (no longer yelling), and the curved ones will not be straightened (parents with gay children should stop being obsessed with it).
Although there are so many concepts about homosexuality, this movie is not about telling the story of homosexuals.
This film tells the story of transgender people—or “transgender people” in colloquial terms.
In the past, the American Psychiatric Association called the mental state of such people "gender identity disorder", but this year, after research, the association plans to replace the term "gender identity disorder" with "gender inconsistency" ( gender incongruence)".
As the name suggests, some children (yes, the youngest transgender people are only 2 years old), adolescents, and adults are physically one sex, while spiritually they are born to be another sex.
Just like Brandon/Tina in the film, they hate their physical gender and will wrap their breasts or wear clothes to take a bath in order to avoid seeing their body, that is, gender dysphoria. Because they do believe that they belong to the other gender spiritually, and this identification is formed in early childhood (2-6 years old).
If the parents of transgender people ignore or refuse to face this problem, the children will fall into a miserable life-they will be depressed and even suicidal. Outside of the family, transgender people are frequently ostracized and bullied, live at the bottom of society, stay away from mainstream society, and even be killed.
Just like in the film, Brandon, as a man, living in a female body is already very painful. He hates his female body. It is not difficult to imagine how a strong touch and sense of belonging will be in his heart when he is accepted as a "male" by the group of Lana's ex-boyfriends!
It is also not difficult to imagine that when he is bullied and raped, the physical pain is there, but the psychological pain caused by being rejected and treated as a metamorphosis is even worse.
As for the brutal inquiries by the police about the rape process, the harm to Brandon this man is actually not under the rapist. And because this kind of injury comes from the judiciary, it can be said to be a more terrifying bullying, because it means that Brandon, as a transgender, has been pushed out of the door and stepped on the foot by the mainstream society.
The only conscience in the film, Lana and her mother's acceptance of Brandon, is not only moving, but also shows that there are also calls for acceptance of transgender people in mainstream society.
As a medical student, I want to use what I have learned to rectify the names of transgender people. Transgender people are not perverts, nor are they "transvestites." In Europe and the United States, where social welfare is sufficient, parents will help transgender people after their self-gender recognition has taken shape from early childhood, including blocking pubertal development of their original sex, hormonal treatment, and surgical treatment in the later period.
In fact, transgender people are really not far from us. China has the dancer Jin Xing, and the United States has the veteran punk band Against Me! The lead singer Grace-the original Tom Gabel. Venus now has a husband and children, and Grace's wife in her former masculine status supports his transgenderness. Just as Obama said last month in his speech on campus LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) bullying, “The most important thing is to be yourself, to be yourself live".

This passage is for you: we always fall in love with people we shouldn't love in our lives, it has nothing to do with gender. We will sink and fall into it, so hopeless, but we will still stick to it silently and pay homage to this early love in our own way. It's the kind of strong humiliation, stubborn self-protection that breaks easily. Does love really need so much controversy? Those self-righteous ages, those self-righteous patriarchs, those

The first half is a sunny day, and the second half becomes a story of youth and cruelty. Such a theme always seems very special; Hilary Swank's performance is really good, but unfortunately this has also become her handicap, it seems that no longer Later, only characters like the Iron Lady, the man and the woman could arouse the audience's approval.

Boys Don't Cry quotes

  • Brandon: Lana, you are one cranky girl.

Lana: Yeah, well, you'd be cranky, too, Mister I'm Going To Memphis Graceland Tennessee, if you were stuck in a town where there's nothing to do but go bumper skiing and chase bats every night of your evil fucking life.

  • Lana: God, I hate my life.

Lana's Mom: [drunk on the sofa] Lana?

Brandon: I hate your life, too.
