for the sake of sacrifice

I laughed when I saw the words "film review contains spoilers" as a child. Moon landing is something I learned in junior high school. Who doesn't know about Aldrin and Armstrong? Everyone is still talking about whether they have seen alien spacecraft on the moon, and they are afraid of spoilers.

This movie was recommended by a colleague and has always believed in his taste. It mainly talks about the space race during the Cold War, and the moon landing program is an important step for the United States. The film revolves around the preparations for the moon landing program and the moon landing.

After reading it, my biggest impression is that countless pioneers, with the fearless spirit of sacrifice, have made it possible for mankind to fill the technological gap little by little and make technology develop like this.

What I remember vividly is that two astronauts crashed due to heavy fog when they landed in the trainer; Apollo 1 caught fire in the experimental cabin, and three astronauts were burned alive. But it was cold and quiet, forming a stark contrast. After such an accident, Armstrong and his party still have the courage to participate in the next moon landing program, which is absolutely awe-inspiring.

In human history, there have never been many pioneers or martyrs like Apollo 1. They used their lives to discover problems, improve each deficiency, and pave the way for the success of later generations. However, history will only remember successful people. Everyone remembers Gagarin who was the first to walk in space, Armstrong who was the first to land on the moon, Aldrin who was the first to step back from the moon to Earth, and China's first People are Yang Liwei, but few people remember those behind-the-scenes workers and those martyrs. The reason why a seed becomes a big tree is because of the solid ground under its feet, because of the photosynthesis of each leaf, because of sunlight and rain.

The moon landing was broadcast live around the world. Of course, the Americans showed their fists to the world and showed off their muscles to the Soviet Union. But when Armstrong and his party overcame difficulties and obstacles and really set foot on the moon, I felt that everything was unimportant. For thousands of years, human beings have looked up at the moon, imagining that there is a heavenly palace, Chang'e, a jade rabbit, and the goddess Artemis. It is so unreachable. On July 20, 1969, it was the first time in human history to land on the moon. "This is one small step for me, but one giant leap for mankind." At this moment, through thousands of years of hard work, mankind has overcome How many difficulties and obstacles, I just stood on the moon 380,000 kilometers away from my hometown. I think at that moment, everyone who watched the live broadcast was full of pride! This is the recognition and pride of one's own race as a human being, and the sense of identification with the community with a shared future for mankind. At that moment, what country, interests, everything seemed so insignificant. The universe is boundless.

First Man quotes

  • Deke Slayton: Why do you think space flight is important?

Neil Armstrong: I had a few opportunities in the X-15 to observe the atmosphere. It was so thin, such a small part of the Earth that you could barely see it at all. And when you're down here in the crowd and you look up, it looks pretty big and you don't think about it too much. But when you get a different vantage point it changes your perspective.

  • Pete Conrad: Neil, I was sorry to hear about your daughter.

Neil Armstrong: I'm sorry, is there a question?

Pete Conrad: What I... What I mean is... Do you think it'll have an effect?

Neil Armstrong: I think it would be unreasonable to assume that it wouldn't have some effect.
