S01E02 Heir Matthew Crawley and his mother Isobel Crawley arrive at Downton Abbey. At the same time, the old earl's widow, the countess has not given up hope of Mary's inheritance. E07 The Earl's family returns to the manor from the London social season. mr napier tells mary that Edith leaked the cause of Turk's death. mary revenges sir anthony's marriage proposal to edith. After 18 years, the countess is pregnant again. If it is her son's eldest cousin, she will not be the heir. . So Mary refused to agree to the marriage proposal. Big cousin is very sad. Later, the maid O'Brien caused the Countess to miscarry, and Mary tried to agree to the proposal again, but Matthew was already heartbroken and said he wanted to leave Downton Abbey.
