very entertaining movie. and made me think a bit. realized that I was disappointed by 4 things, not flaws in the plot, but what the plot represented:

1. humans can only be banded together and let go of our 'minor' differences, such as faith, race, and nationality, only if there is eminent, and indisputable destruction of our whole race, like aliens drilling into the earth core and stealing it in 2 hours, but not global warming, are we really that self-centered and short sighted?

2. female president makes tough decision to protect the planet, yet it was wrong and she gets killed with all her successors, no recognition after that, then male military general new president saves the world, really?

3. we left aliens in Africa and didn't help the people there for 10 years, sounds like us and poverty or aids, but way more than 10 years of inaction!

4. Okay, China had risen, we get it, but is that a true sign of globalization? Or just globalization of Chinese products, like qq and moon milk? again, am disappointed

5. almost forgot, what's with the two older gentlemen, 'who is going to take care of my orchids', really? mainstreaming gay relationships so much that it became two old dudes hugging? not acceptable!

Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our...
