Personal heroism, American dramas seem to like this concept very much. The government always starts from the interests of the majority and needs someone to solve the needs of a small number of people. This role is generally filled by people who have lost something, a lover, a family member, or even their identity.

How much can personal power do? New York is a place that always seems to be very little. In the hearty resolution of the crisis, there are always hidden worries. This kind of savior is unstable and weak.

When the state machine is untrustworthy, it will infinitely magnify the power of this individual. Is it an unstable factor dormant in society?

Better than nothing, a savior figure, really uplifting.

Person of Interest quotes

  • Mark Snow: [Repeated line] Don't forget, you're behind enemy lines.

  • Harold Finch: [Opening narration, Season 2] You are being watched. The government has a secret system, a machine that spies on you every hour of every day. I designed the machine to detect acts of terror but it sees everything. Violent crimes involving ordinary people. The Government considers these people "irrelevant". We don't. Hunted by the authorities, we work in secret. You'll never find us, but victim or perpetrator, if your number's up... we'll find *you*
