legend.

"Some people hear their own inner voices with great clearness, and they live by what they hear. Such people become crazy, or they become legends."

There are times when I wish I was a boy. He was wearing big leather boots and a well-worn coat. Drink big, talk and laugh loudly, tame a horse, have a beloved woman. When the weather is fine, I put on a shotgun and go hunting in the mountains, and I fish by the lake with my father and brother. Male heroism makes me bold, uninhibited, and personable.

And Tristan is the man I aspire to be. Sometimes wild and unrestrained, sometimes calm and restrained. His family made him destined to become a legend. The old and strong captain father, the calm and agile Indian chief, the honest and intelligent brother Alfred, the pure and kind brother Samuel, and the beautiful woman Susannah who crashed into their lives.
Without Susannah, the story would still be the same, I think. Samuel's character made him go to the front line without hesitation and die in battle; Tristan saw his brother's death and could not face himself and his family, so he decided to exile himself; Doted on, so he chose to leave the ranch to become a businessman and then into politics; the old captain and the remaining chiefs and servants guarded the declining family, guarding the informal mountain life, until Tristan came back to marry a wife and have children; Tristan's wife, little Isabella Died in a conflict of interest, Tristan avenged her, and finally the family hugged and finally let go.

But there was the appearance of Susannah. Three men fell in love with her, but she was not in love with her fiancé, Samuel, and her later husband, Alfred. She sat quietly in the mountains, watching one man after another leave and return. They all have their own glory and dreams, Samuel's dream of a warrior, Tristan's dream of freedom, Alfred's dream of power. She had promised to wait forever for Tristan's return. However, "forever is too far", she watched her childhood lover appear in front of her, and she didn't know how to justify it. Tristan named his child Samuel, which was Susannah's wish. She said if we had a baby, it would be Samuel for the boy and Isabella for the girl. Her heart was broken, and the reunion scene on the street seemed like a prophecy of youth and ignorance. However, that kind of love cannot be escaped, and it is destined to end on the other side with regret.
I love Susannah's confession. "Sometimes I still dream, I'm the mother of your child, and I want her to die, and even I want Samuel to die," she said. Who doesn't hope that their lover will endure with them hand in hand, how can the accident in the middle change the trajectory of the people who love each other? She understood that he gave up on her first. She didn't understand why she still loved him so much.

But who wouldn't love Tristan? Growing up in the mountains and green fields, he fought with wild beasts without fail; his blond hair can match the brilliance of the sky, and he gallops with a group of horses like a god. He is like a rock, colliding with everyone, and all those who love him leave first. He is still him, he is affectionate and righteous, but he is free and unrestrained.
Freedom is above all else. So he mounted the horse and left behind the beloved woman and the lonely father.
Emotions are more important than everything. So after his wife died, he summoned the grizzly bear in his blood to swear revenge.
His love is heavy and cowardly. Just because he listened to his inner voice, he couldn't afford her life.

I also like his father. The old captain who gave up his rights, hid in the mountains, and pursued his nature. When he appeared at the door with white hair to greet the wandering Tristan, he was no longer the captain who could write and debate on the battlefield, he was just an old man waiting for his son to return home. With trembling hands, he wrote on the blackboard on his chest: "am happy", in fact, he also wrote his legend. When the Avengers came after him, he stepped forward and shot the intruder hard with the shotgun that Tristan had given him. He was a real tough guy, a real hero, a great father.

And who's to say that Samuel and Alfred aren't legendary. They all at least fought for the life and affection they wanted. There are also twilight chiefs, it is not great to be content with ordinary life and not care about hatred.

What kind of voice do they have inside to interpret such a story? I was shocked time and time again, and the emotions surging in my heart were like the background music that could not be calmed down for a long time.
How much I want to follow the cry of freedom and immediately get on the horse and sail to the setting sun, how much I want to hug my family and tell them how much I love them, how much I want to come back with the lover I once missed, if we can never be separated.

So, who says we ourselves are not legends of ordinary life? Just go forward a little bit, open up and face yourself.
No regrets, we are our own legends.
