book thief

"The Book Thief" is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by the Australian author, and its popularity is equivalent to "Annie Diary". The whole film tells a warm story during World War II from the perspective of death and narration. The cold tones always give people the depressing breath of death, and the warm music brings a little bit of hope in the world. Bravery comes from the cognition of the world, and strength comes from the desire to survive. There is no ups and downs in the plot, you will not feel passionate after watching it, and it will not be completely boring and difficult to understand, just like a handful of oolong tea, the sweetness after a bitter taste. In those turbulent times, only books can bring people the spiritual power to overcome the fear of war, comfort people's souls, and instill their will. Death can take away one's life, but not one's memory, hope and love. I haven't read the novel and can't compare, but the film is still very recommended. The only thing that lacks bright spots is that the plot of the film is too flat and it is not easy to immediately grab people's hearts. Others are almost perfect. The soundtrack of the movie must be heard.

The Book Thief quotes

  • Death: The bombs were falling thicker now. It's probably fair to say that no one was able to serve the Führer as loyally as me.

  • Rosa Hubermann: [cleaning her skinned hands] You're too much like your father. you know that?

Liesel Meminger: What's wrong with that?
