Gabrielle Solis

Dating back to the modeling days of Garielle Solis, she strutted down the runway. She develops a good taste for rich food and rich men. Carlos attended her show and had a crush on her. Soon after that, he asked Gabreille out, and propsed to her on their third date. Gabrielle was so excited and touched that she hopped up and down in her chair . Then she agreed. Then they got married. Gabrielle soon discovered Carlos would buy her luxury goods each time when he closed a big deal. She gradually realised she wanted the wrong things.

Gabrielle and Carlos love each other. They were just walking on the wrong path of pursuing happiness. Things happened repeatedly. The night when Carlos got back home and gave Gabrielle a white golden necklace and aked her to have sex with him, she was not obeying any more. She said she was not in mood. Carlos had sensed her upset feelings. After a short conversation, Gabrielle told him all she wanted was excitement and surprise. She missed how Carlos found ways to take her breath.

Bree Van De Camp

Bree was known for her cooking. Her talent has been known throughout the neighbourhood. She made clothes herself, did the gardening, and mended the furniture. Even so, her husband, Rex, was tired of her consistently being perfect. He told Bree he wanted divorce. He missed the woman who always messed things up. He was insane. He was torturing himself.

On the day Bree and her family payed a visit to Paul Young to mourn the death of his wife, Mary Alice. She brought baskets of muffins she baked from scratch. When the door was opened, Bree showed her serenly smiling face, but Rex was in him exasperation. Bree waled up tp Paul and his son, Zach. She handed him the dessert and told him the basket with red ribbon was for his guests and the one with blue ribbon was for him and Zach. Bree was so thoughtful. She showed her sympathy for the sympathetic situation Paul and Zach were going through. So, it was also acceptable when Bree told Paul she wanted her baskets back after they finished. But Rex was mouth-opened with disbelief and exasperated. He exchanged a long-suffering glances with their children.

Susan Mayer

Susan was always a drama queen. She was always easily showing her emotions. I think this was partially because she was an illustrator, drawimg pictures for children's books. She was in the circumstance of going though the sorrow of being divorced. Her husband Karl betrayed her. He had an extramarital affair with his secretary. Karl said he just wanted what his heart wanted.

Susan met Michael at the wake. Michael just moved into the Wisteria Lane. He rented out a house. He was a plumber. He was about to spoon some of the macaroni set out on the tabel. Susan saw that ans stopped him. She warned him that she made it. Michael refused to believe anyone would screw up macaroni and cheese. Then he took a bite and spit it out into the tissue that Susan handed to him. He described the macaroni was tasted both burned and undercooked. This was the first sight of them. So they exchanged self-information.

Lynette Scavo

Lynette used to be a successful career woman, but she was an at-home mother. She took care of four children all by herself. Her husband Tom was always away on business. She couldn't count on him. And her babysitter was occupied with some other staff. She was so exausted of looking after her children without helping hands.

Lynette was leaving a voice message to threaten him while she was getting groceries with her children. The twin boys always misbehaved and they were pulling the trolley and running around in the supermarket. Then Lynette encountered her former colleague. The woman politely asked about Lynette's domestic life, a question that Lynetted always dreaded . She lied, as always, and said being a mom is the best job she had ever had.

Extended Reading

There is a feeling of watching an extended version of "Deadly Woman". Compared with "Deadly Woman", the characters in "Desperate Housewives" are more three-dimensional. Several heroines have obvious advantages and disadvantages. There is no particularly likable character, but the characters are very distinct! Focusing on everyone, the setting of the dark side behind the bright side of each family is very interesting. There are golden sentences in almost every episode, the sense of drama and comedy are also well-balanced, and there is a big suspense main line leading. It can really be called a classic American drama. But more than 20 episodes feel too long, and some single episodes are just to make up the number.

Because I don't think I can watch it anymore, so I'm going to give a rating. On the whole, it is a very good American drama. Except for the characters that are not beautiful enough, the other four of the five housewives, except for the sexy and hot Gabriel, seem to be quite cruel. The plot is interesting, but some are too trivial. The chickens are broken, but it is no wonder that the lives of housewives can be expected to do anything from them, secretly cheating, murdering, and getting divorced...

Desperate Housewives quotes

  • Edie: [Susan walks over to Edie deliberately to show off and looks very stylish and beautiful] Wow, get a load of you. You look so pretty. I hardly recognize you.

Susan: Yeah... I have a date... with Mike. We kissed, FYI...

[Susan leaves, leaving Edie with her mouth wide-open]

Edie: [Susan comes back from Mike canceling the date] So, how was the big date?

    Susan: Mike had to reschedule.

Edie: Aww... 'cause of the hot girl? With the suitcase? Over there? How devastating for you... FYI!
