Big Eyes

Simple yet gripping throughout. Tim Burton ditches his insistence on his unique artistic style for a more conventional style of film and the end result is a visually bright and stunning flick. The most important aspect of Big Eyes is still its unbelievable yet true storyline. Perhaps something like this that has to do with art would merit a deeper film that looks more into the psyche of the artists and morality in the art world, instead of a simple biopic, but for me this works and tells a great story effectively. Amy Adams is the star of the film for me, I've never been a fan of her style, but Big Eyes changes this for me. Great job at portraying Margaret Keane, both her helplessness and inner strength shone through.

Even the acting is too ordinary, so boring

It certainly wasn't like the grotesque Bolton before, but the courtroom confrontation fit his style. But the disadvantage of the film is that the performances of the male and female protagonists are not very good. The audience will not only sympathize and even question the behavior and cowardice of the female protagonist for a long time, but the male pig is still a funny face after being exposed. , which indirectly weakens the disgust that lies bring to people.

Big Eyes quotes

  • Walter Keane: For God's sake, you've seen me paint!

Margaret Keane: No, I haven't. I always thought that I had, but it's like a mirage. It's like a mirage. From a distance, you look like a painter. But up close, there's not much there.

  • Title Card: I think that what Keane has done is just terrific. It has to be good. If it were bad, so many people wouldn't like it. - Andy Warhol
