"Dancer in the Darkness" - There is more than one dancer in the dark

I was very sad after watching "Dancer in the Darkness". I originally thought this was probably an inspirational story, like Helen Keller, like Ray, who was disabled and determined, persevered in the face of difficulties, lived bravely and strong, and finally succeeded and won the applause of people. I always thought that was the case, even after the movie played for a while. But finally not, the film tells the story of a mother, and our justice, our justice imposed on this mother.
In the film, Shaman was tried for murder, and the prosecution's lawyer made a generous statement: "The prosecution will prove to you that the defendant not only committed the most ruthless murder, but was essentially a selfish person who pretended to be disabled and only With compassion for herself, this woman came to our country to seek asylum with trust and friendship, and the evidence would show that she paid in return for betraying, robbing, and murdering those who helped her. Jurors, she asks us to She has compassion, but the evidence shows that she has no compassion..."
But is this the truth? Kind as my viewers will know after watching the film that this is pure bullshit. We know that Shaman went to Bill to ask for it because he stole the money she had worked so hard to save to treat her son's eye disease. It was Bill who refused to give the money or even suicidal and asked Shaman to kill him. Shaman pretending to be disabled? Wrong, she is pretending to be a normal person, the purpose is only to work in the factory to earn a meager salary. She loves singing and dancing, loves life, deeply blames herself for giving birth to Xiaojun even knowing that she has a genetic eye disease, and struggles hard to treat Xiaojun's eye disease. It's just that those of us who are off-screen bystanders know about it. When the jurors unanimously found that Shaman's murder was established, we were angry that the truth was covered up, but think about it calmly, how did they know Shaman's kindness and strength. On the surface, Bill is a wealthy man who has inherited the inheritance. Even Xiaojun doesn't know about the money that Shaman has accumulated so much. As the prosecution lawyer said, all the evidence shows that Shaman betrayed, robbed, killed and helped her. Even Shaman's best friend, Gave, sympathizes with Shaman and believes that Shaman killed Bill for money. Some people say that life is a process of suffering and injustice, which must be true. Think carefully, are we really as righteous as we think every time we are righteous?
At the end of the film, Shaman was about to be hanged. When the black cloth was covering her head, she struggled so hard that the executors had to remove the hood for Shaman after asking for instructions. Frankly, I don't like the ending, it's how it should be in my imagination. Shaman struggled to get rid of the hood, and the executor went to ask for instructions, but finally put it on her and hanged. Don't scold me, life is like this.

    Although I'm not so sad

...I suspect that the director made this seemingly tragic anti-musical comedy with malicious laughter. If so, I will give 4 stars, because I can't believe it is a mother's love or an inspirational or tear-jerking sensational film. In fact, what Lars von Trier likes is execution! Add a star to the hanging that can't wait for the song to finish! -------- I seriously doubt this is a camp movie...

District Attorney: So, the defendant preferred Hollywood to Vladivostok.

  • District Attorney: If this relationship was made up by the defendant, then, can you think of any way she might have come to know your name?

Oldrich Novy: I was once well known in Czechoslovakia, because of my profession.

District Attorney: Yes, Mr. Oldrich Novy, what is your profession? Maybe that can give us a clue to why, why this somewhat romantic, certainly Communistic, woman who worships Fred Astaire, but not his country, why she might have lied and misused your name - make everybody think that all the money was spent on a poor father and not on her own vanity. What is it that you do?
