Unforgettable movies of the decade

Back then, I was a little girl, not the age when Marie married from Austria to France, and I watched this movie on CCTV 6 Movie Channel. Think maybe more than ten years. For many movies I watched last year, it would be good for me to remember a third of the clips, but this movie, which I have only seen once, reminds me from time to time in the past few years. Mary's fear and shyness when she was stripped naked by a maid, the curvature of her skirt and the tears she held back when she was laughed at when she quickly passed through the crowd when she had no children, the beautiful fabrics, luxurious desserts and all kinds of parties that Mary expressed her emotions with, to her and her lover. She and her husband stood in front of the window sill and watched the condemnation of the French people... I can no longer connect the clips to form a complete plot, but these clips may not be forgotten in my life. I've thought about it many times, this movie can't be said to have much connotation, why it has been memorized for so many years. Think about the life of a woman who can empathize with a 12- or 13-year-old girl? When I was 14 years old, I married abroad, and I was restrained everywhere and attracted attention. Now I think about it, I am afraid, let alone me back then? The depression under the bustling, the suffocating feeling of the whole movie is far more uncomfortable than when they went to the guillotine. What's so scary about death? What is terrible is the endless stagnant life without sustenance.

The rock soundtrack is a bit nonsensical

Marie Antoinette quotes

  • Marie-Antoinette: [her dog, Mops, is taken away] Mops!

Comtesse de Noailles: You may have as many French dogs as you like.

  • Ambassador Mercy: Madame du Barry would like to offer you some diamonds.

    Marie-Antoinette: I have enough diamonds.

Ambassador Mercy: Snubbing the King's favorite is publicly criticizing the King's behavior. All you need to do is say a few words to her; because of rank she is not allowed to speak to you first.

Marie-Antoinette: Well, I certainly have nothing to say to her. And why should I approve of his cavorting with a harlot?

Ambassador Mercy: [reproachfully] Your Royal Highness!

Marie-Antoinette: Well, that's what she is. Everyone knows that she's from a brothel and that title was bought for her.

Ambassador Mercy: Your mother and I are very concerned. Du Barry has been complaining to the King that you will not address her, and you cannot afford to fall out of favor with the King. Especially as your marriage... not exactly on solid ground.

Marie-Antoinette: [annoyed] Fine. I'll talk to her.
