And dealing with terrorists is still an ordinary policeman, not at the level of the FBI. After 9/11, all plots involving terrorists have been FBI. This is a big difference.
In 1997, Brad Pitt was so young, but he was not young enough to play a young man~.~
Because of a good policeman, an Irish Republican Army wanted to correct evil; also because of a good policeman, Brad Pitt died.
For the terrorists at that time, the main point of the whole play is to express that he can be influenced by love and education. The steps required to awaken a terrorist:
1. The arms dealer did not follow the agreement and tried to steal his money, disrupting his life. This reminded him of his past. Especially the memories of wearing a mask.
2. His friend was killed. This is also a very important factor, which will make him feel alone again.
3. The colleague of a good policeman is also a key figure. Good police colleagues always deal with criminals by force. He caught a car thief who threw a gun and shot him in the back; he saw Brad Pitt not standing still when he opened the trunk of the car. Instead, he drew his gun, which forced Brad Pitt to kill him and eventually restore what a terrorist should be.
"This is not an American story, it's Irish", so there is no happyending.
"We never have a choice, me and you." This is from the standpoint of the police and terrorists. In fact, according to the development of the plot, he wanted to catch him, not to kill him. The dialogue that should be said was "We could have a choice." At least I think so.
