A film about'ridiculous'

'Life of Brian' is a ridiculous humor about life. Absurdity means paradox, the opposite of purpose and result, and the irrationality of'reasonable'.

Brian is the illegitimate child of a single mother, an ordinary poor who does not live better or worse than others, an unidentified mixed child due to artificial rules: according to Jewish regulations, the son of a Jewish mother , Brian should be a Jew; according to Roman regulations, as the son of a Roman father, Brian should be a Roman.

Brian's "endowment" is that he was born on the same street in the same year and on the same day as the son of God "Jesus". They are neighbors. They look alike, but they are different at a glance. This coincidence did not bring any adventure to Brian's life, and the sarcasm metaphorized by this coincidence kicked off the whole film.

The bizarre experience of Brian's life is almost the opposite of Christ Jesus, although they were sent to the cross by different means. Without a talented mission, the civilian Brian was mistakenly referred to as the Messiah (Savior) and was followed by everyone. What he said became a holy word, his common sense became a holy relic, and the things he carried with him became holy things. He was silent, and everyone thought he was carrying the secret message of God; he denied that he was the Messiah and became the proof of the true Messiah; he admitted that... such absurd contradictions are everywhere in the film. Blind people can always justify themselves with their own logic.

Although the film is related to religion, it is not an anti-religious film. The image of Jesus only appeared once, for two minutes. The scope of the film's allegory is very wide, almost mocking all the contradictory absurdities in life, life, death, love, belief, from religion, power, to daily life. Maybe the content of the film has countless hints, but I believe that revealing and constructing the absurd itself is the original and final purpose of the film. It makes the film interesting, smooth and full of charm.

'Life of Brian' is a typical British humor. Compared with'Forrest Gump','Life of Brian' does not have any themes to promote, such as Forrest Gump's honesty, such as'good people are rewarded', such as'persistence'. The wisdom of'Life of Brian' lies more in dispelling and revealing, rather than constructing and persuading. Brian is different from A-Gump. If A-Gump mocks “normal” and “supernormal” with its “abnormal”, Brian is just an ordinary normal person living among normal people, and he will still be like this at the end of his life. . If Forrest's ending is a comedy, Brian's is a tragedy. There is more skepticism in British cynical.

The film ends with a song,'always look on the bright side of life'. If Brian's life is full of absurd experiences, this ending is quite warm. Its warmth lies in its display of "humanity"-life does not/do not need meaning beyond its own meaning. This may be the only insistence of this film. All the additional meanings are not only absurdly blind, but also fragile.

They said it was movie & pizza, but they didn't bring any discs as the organizer of the event. Fortunately, some children brought the rescue DVD and watched with a group of British children; although they don't know how many times they watched it, it was our first time. understand. Hilarious.

How do I think that always look on the bright side of life at the end is also an irony? Brian didn't sing from start to finish.

Mr. Big Nose: Hey. Your nose is going to be three foot wide accross your face by the time I'm finished with you!
