Can't write a movie review

Endless highway driving, music in the car, little shop by the road, dog in the house, messy kitchen. Some images always remind me of certain details of American life.

This is an interview, countless conversations, but it is more like the mutual immersion of two people's lives, in a limited time. They talk about loneliness, creativity, intimacy, ideals.

However, the journey was not as pleasant as it seemed. "Travel End" was suicide, after the author promoted his acclaimed book across the United States.

"Life with a dog won't excite you, but you won't hurt other people's feelings anymore." "I sometimes drink alcohol, sometimes I don't touch alcohol for ten days, and I run ten kilometers every day. I'm desperate."

Very American, he wanted to end his despair with a tough approach.

I recommend Journey's End, probably the best movie I've seen this year.

It's even better than the director's two previous works. From start to finish, the lines are powerful, so resonant, and fascinating. Jason Segel did a really good job.

If there is no weird association, it is easy to fall into the void. So thanks for the ending.

The End of the Tour quotes

  • David Foster Wallace: It's so much easier having dogs.

David Lipsky: Ha, ha - I'm sure.

David Foster Wallace: I mean, yes, you don't get laid, but you don't have that feeling, like you're hurting their feelings, all the time.

    David Lipsky: Right, right.

David Foster Wallace: I'd like to emphasise strictly platonic relationship with the dogs.

David Lipsky: He he; I'll make sure I'll highlight it in the article, sure.

  • David Lipsky: Do you wanna have kids?...

David Foster Wallace: Yeah, I think that writing books is a little like raising children, y'know -you have to be careful; mm; it's ok to take pride in the work, but I think it's bad for someone to want the glory to reflect back on you.

David Lipsky: I mean, sounds like you're worried about having children.

David Foster Wallace: I'm not wanna say anymore about that - if that's ok?
