Judging from the first preview of "Princess of Monaco", the media thought the film was "gorgeous in appearance and empty in content", and some even said it was "the worst opening film in Cannes in history", and the film even attracted a burst of boos at the end. Many media reporters expressed dissatisfaction with the opening film: "The film is completely a gimmick, a waste of such a good subject matter and a waste of such a good actor.
