Let's find the difference

There are serious spoilers below, please choose whether to drop down as appropriate.

(1) Three dads

In the first part, Donna’s diary reads like this: On July 17, Sam took me to the island by boating. After we dot dot dot, I found out that he was engaged, so we don’t spend it. On August 4th, Bill rented a motorboat, I took him to the island, and we dot dot dot. On August 11th, Harry went to the island. I took him around the island, dot dot dot.

In the second part, the order and location of the appearance of the three dads are quite different from the previous article. Donna first met Harry in Paris, then Bill (and his entire ship) on the way to a small Greek island, and finally met Sam on the island. As for the order of dot dot dot, it becomes Harry → Sam → Bill.

(2) Rosie and Tanya

In the first part, Rosie and Tanya had never met Bill, Sam, Harry before attending Sophie's wedding, they only heard their previous deeds from Donna.

In order to strengthen the relationship between Rosie and Bill, the second part specially arranged the plot of young Rosie falling in love with Bill at first sight (and then immediately falling in love). Then there was a plot where young Tanya fell in love with Sam at first sight (and then fell in love immediately). In fact, I think the jokes here are too deliberate.

(3) Donna's mother

In the first part, Donna said that her mother would not allow her to go home after discovering that she was pregnant. Donna claims that his mother is an old-fashioned Catholic.

In the second part, Donna's mother is a famous Las Vegas singer, and Donna has never had any contact with her mother since she graduated, so it is naturally impossible to tell her mother about her pregnancy.

(4) The fate of supporting actors

There were a few dazzling supporting roles in the first part: Sophie's two friends, the young handsome guy who molested Tanya, and the Greek boy who Harry looked at each other.

In the second part, these people have disappeared magically. At least for the two friends of Sophie, the hotel opening + pregnancy is such a big event, why should I be there to congratulate you?

(5) Is Sam a good dad?

In the first part, Sam said that he has two sons. According to the development of the plot, the two sons must be younger than Sophie and less than 20 years old.

In the second part, Sam has been firmly rooted on the island as a stepfather for a few years, and it seems that he never cares about his two sons anymore. The new hotel Sam designed with painstaking effort over the past few years is about to open, but first he never thought of inviting his sons to open the party, and secondly he never thought of inviting his sons to come to the rescue when the party was destroyed. The two sons were just forgotten...

(6) Character modeling

In the first part, Donna was shocked. The appearance of Bill, Harry and Sam when they were young flashed before her eyes: punk collar Head Banger Harry + rebellious eye tattoo Bill + hippie long-haired eight-character Hu Sam... In the later shots, Donna and the three men also took out their own collection of old photos, remembering themselves who were dressed up in a bold and unrestrained manner.

The appearance of the young dads in the second part, to be honest, there are not many shadows of punk or hippie, just three men who have come out of a parallel world. Having said that, I think there is a big problem with Harry's casting. Wouldn't it be more convincing to ask Jeremy Irvine, who played young Sam, to play young Harry! And Jeremy has also played the young version of Colin before.

Bill's casting is very careful. Josh Dylan's eyebrows are indeed a bit like the Nordic male god Stellan at certain angles. After this scene, Josh Dylan will have a lot of fans.

young Colin Firth

Jeremy Irvine

young Stellan Skarsgard

There's no story, what's the use of just having a song (I've heard it), the first one has a main story anyway, this one. . . I don't know where the narrative begins and ends.

The first half was embarrassing enough to explode all kinds of embarrassing songs, dances, and chats, which made people want to escape from the cinema. After Uncle Colin appeared, he was instantly followed by "Bill & Harry". I have bid farewell to the youth idol love drama routine and completely entered the era of red sunset... #and suddenly want to go to Greece#
