Who are those "human bombs"

It used to be a means of resistance, but it eventually became a form of abused violence.

The BBC recently released a new drama "Personal Bodyguard" in which a British male, an ascetic bodyguard brother and a female politician are in love .

The political fight against terrorism is the background thread.

When its first episode came up, it was a 20-minute, thrilling terrorist attack.

The male protagonist David found a terrorist hiding in the bathroom on the train, a young woman holding a switch with a bomb strapped to her body.

This was obviously unexpected by David. Seeing the same panicked girl, he finally changed his combat strategy and persuaded the human bomb girl to surrender.

The girl was forced to become a human bomber by her husband. David said to her: "Why does the person you love want you to die? You are brainwashed, so is he, and the beneficiaries are the politicians. Don't let them win."

Some critics abroad wrote:

The opening of this drama is too real, especially for countries that are currently under serious threats of terrorism, and it is too familiar. It is its authenticity that makes it a truly terrifying thriller.

Its horror is not only the security threat posed by terrorists, but also ordinary people who are willing to be human bombs.

In 2005, a London Underground explosion took 52 lives and injured more than 700 people.

The planner of the event is a local Leeds teacher named Mohamed Sidik Khan, who has a happy family and a young daughter who is also loved by the local community.

The other detonators he contacted were all young people who were just 19 or 22 years old and had a normal daily life.

Reading, going to school, and working are good neighbors, sons, and husbands in the eyes of others.

But after they went to Pakistan’s al-Qaeda, they returned home and decided to launch a so-called "jihad" as retaliation for the United States and Britain sending troops to Iraq.

This incident has also become one of the most serious terrorist attacks launched by Islamic terrorists in the history of England.

Soon after, British director Christopher Morris was inspired by this incident and made a film with a rather British humorous style [Four Lions] .

The so-called "Four Lions" in the movie are four Arab youths living and growing up in England.

They understand English, have a family, and have a stable and happy life. However, a few of them are enthusiastic admirers of the "jihad".

Just like the group of Sidik Khan, they also planned to leave for the base for training, and then began the "human bomb" operation.

At the beginning of the film, four people imitated the imaginary hero and recorded a threatening "jihad" video. As a result, they were so stupid that they couldn't use all the materials.

However, small mistakes can't stop them from moving forward, although they are bubbling all the way, and they are constantly confused, such as doing stupid things like falling accidentally and detonating them.

But in the final London Marathon, although they made a big farce, they accidentally made the explosion succeed.

[Four Lions] is a black humor that makes tragedy comedy, and it is also the kind of thriller that makes you laugh out of the back.

You think terrorists are well-equipped, well-planned, and violent. No, these ordinary young people have come to an end unconsciously and unplannedly.

Just like in the final marathon, some people didn't want to explode, but they couldn't get off the hook. When negotiating with the police, they were asked what they wanted, and they themselves fell into confusion.

Paris "Charlie Hebdo" terrorist attack, Manchester City concert terrorist attack, Brussels airport bombing...

It seems that since the new century, those religious terrorist attacks carried out in the name of "jihad" have begun to emerge in endlessly, and the starting point of people's memory of this is naturally the September 11 incident 17 years ago.

The 9/11 incident created by Islamic extremists has an unprecedented scale, causing nearly 3,000 deaths and more than 2,000 injuries. It has also become a turning point.

We have entered a new wave of terrorism represented by al-Qaeda.

They used lethal weapons against civilians, spread their hatred of the United States, Britain and other countries, and wanted to reorganize the world in accordance with Islamic law.

But in fact, the most threatening is not a specific organization like a base, but an extreme idea, which will spread rapidly throughout Europe and the world like a virus.

Maybe you don’t need to have been to the base, or you don’t need to understand the world. Some young people living on the margins of society, once they are brainwashed, will easily become "human bombs."

The "jihad" has become the "heroic feat" of these people who are unwilling to live a mediocre life. All the dissatisfaction and malice accumulated in life are the driving force for their actions.

In [Four Lions], the four of them compare themselves with lions and become "human bombs" in order to be able to go to heaven with a smile, so absurd and sad.

Therefore, even if all countries continue to increase their counter-terrorism strategies and actions, they have not been able to prevent the spread of extremism.

We are threatened by this only a lot more than 17 years ago, and the size of the affected area and the cruelty of the injuries are also inferior to all previous terrorist waves.

The "Red Brigade" of Italy, the "Red Army" of Germany, the "Red Army" of Japan, the "Direct Action" of France, the "Glorious Path" of Peru...

Some people say that using modern technology to attack the public, using public opinion to expand its influence and create panic, and "human bomb" suicide attacks, the above-mentioned veteran terrorists are the real teachers of these methods.

Actually, that's right.

The recognized modern terrorist activities originated in the late 1960s. Between 1968 and 1969, a series of terrorist activities such as assassinations, bombings, and hijacking began to occur.

Therefore, the international community regards 1968 as the starting point of modern terrorism.

And all of this originated in the student movement and protests in the 1960s.

As soon as the movie came out, it was in 1968 that the student movement in West Germany encountered police violent siege, sticks, fire hoses, and even direct shooting.

Countless young students fell on the street during the struggle, and Rudy Dozke, one of the leaders of the West German student movement, was assassinated after a rally movement.

It was against this background that Badr, his girlfriend Gudren, and journalist Meinhoff established RAF and became the first generation of leaders.

In the 1960s and 1970s, the left-wing trend swept the world.

The unpopular "Vietnam War" in the United States was an opportunity for the outbreak of the student movement, and it also made the capitalist system questionable by young people.

The Soviet-led Hungarian incident and the invasion of Czechoslovakia to suppress the "Prague Spring" also caused great controversy.

On the contrary, what young people admire more is Che Guevara, a fighter who fought guerrilla warfare "to liberate all mankind" in the jungles of South America;

It was the Cuban Revolution and Castro, it was the Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh, and Mao, who was in the midst of the "Cultural Revolution", was popular in the West with the red book quotations.

What they want to achieve is "to unite the proletariat of the world", to resist injustice and reshape the social system.

However, the street protest movement of young people in the violence of the police group has become increasingly weak and frustrated in the face of the assassination of Guevara, Martin Luther King, Kennedy, and Rudy Dotsk.

Before Rudy was killed, the anti-Communist and anti-student movement mainstream newspaper Bild-Zeitung had published an article on the front page with the title "Stop Dutschke now (a metaphor: kill him now)!"

Since then, Meinhof, the founder of RAF, declared: Burning a car is a crime, and burning a hundred cars is a political action!

The ultra-left militants finally turned the protest into a terrorist activity advocating violent "liberation", calling themselves "revolutionaries."

They robbed banks, assassinated bank presidents, and business leaders in order to "retake property looted by capitalism for the people";

Put bombs on the police, bomb judges, police, in order to counter the state apparatus;

After the first generation of leaders went to prison, others began to create bombings and hijackings that didn't care about civilian casualties.

A large number of bloody and violent actions are becoming more and more distant from their original intention to liberate all mankind.

The "Red Army" in West Germany is certainly not an isolated case. Almost in the same period, the "Red Brigade" in Italy, the "Red Army" in Japan, and the "Direct Action" in France were all creating their own "revolutions."

©Report of hijacking by Japanese "Red Army"

In order to "support the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people", the Japanese "Red Army" created a tragedy of machine gun fire at the Israeli Lutheran Airport;

The Italian "Red Brigade" kidnapped Prime Minister Moro, and after imprisoning him for 55 days, fired 11 shots in his body;

The French "Direct Action" and the West German "Red Army" formed an alliance to extend the assassination and bombing operations abroad...

In just a few years from 1968 to 1980, nearly 7,000 terrorist incidents occurred around the world, and more than 3,000 people were killed. There are more than 100 hijacking incidents every year.

Among them, these ultra-left terrorist organizations contributed most of the data.

Until the drastic changes in Eastern Europe in the late 1980s and the final bankruptcy of the left-wing ideals, most of the ultra-left organizations ceased to be active.

The West German "Red Army" did not announce its disbandment until 1998. At that time, they still quoted the proletarian leader Rosa Luxemburg as their concluding remarks:

The revolution said: I was, I existed, and I still do.

These terrorists who are full of "romantic and naive" feelings for "revolution" are mostly middle-aged intellectuals and college students.

They learn from Che Guevara, learn from the anti-colonial fighters in the Algerian anti-French independence revolutionary movement, and speak with bombs and machine guns.

It used to be a means of resistance, but it eventually became a form of abused violence.

Up to now, although this wave has faded, the devastating and fanatical nature of the new wave of terrorism has clearly become a greater threat.

What will happen in the future? Who knows.
