Very wonderful. I saw many comments that the story progressed slowly and the climax was not prominent, and many people compared it with Shawshank. From a movie perspective, this is a complete defeat to Shawshank, but this is a real story... In order to stay true to historical facts as much as possible, the changes should not be too large.
Imagine if Papillon returns to France at the end, finds the culprit and kills his enemies, welcomes love and wealth, and then rescues Degas in his twilight years, will more people find it enjoyable and more exciting in such a happy ending?
I can only say that this story hopes to be more close to historical facts, don't compare it with the novel, it is legendary enough.
