The film seemed a bit misleading in its promotion, with multiple posters alluding to bloody violence, and I had always thought it was a Quentin-like cult. In fact, the revelation brought by the movie goes far beyond the revengeful killing scene of the heroine in the second half. On the surface, it seems to be a conflict between civilization and ignorance, but hidden is an intriguing feminist theme. How can women survive in a patriarchal society? Is it to kill, or to support each other? Is it to be indifference and connivance towards sin, or to stand up? These tough and interesting questions should all be answered in the movie. Well, as for those things about the dark side of human nature, it is inconvenient to discuss here.
