Every time I watch Kim Ki-duk's movies, I always take a break in the middle, slow down, and feel the feeling of being swallowed up by this substantive negative emotion. It's really amazing, Kim Ki-duk, how he can show humanity so straightforward, so real, and so cruel. It's like holding a knife into the chest, making people feel the person and love more clearly in the pain and suffocation.
Last night, I actually opened the Sacred Memorial. When I saw "Mom" cooking for Jiang Dao, I buckled the computer and thought, "No, I can't watch it any more. I can't watch it in the dark night and the lights. To be desperate, no, it should be sad, tortured to emo. Even in the sunlight, you can still see the gray smoke wafting from the screen. The two biggest shocks the movie gave me were two points. One is the mother's determination to take revenge for the child, and the other is that Jiang Dao finally awakened his humanity and chose death as a new beginning. In the end, when "Mom" was standing upstairs, when she said "Sangjiu, I think so wrong", she said "When Jiang Dao was also very pitiful", tears could not stop flowing. What is money and what is death, I don't know. In the movie I would say that money is just a test of human nature, and death will be another beginning. Maybe in the past, I would have thought that it must be someone's fault that caused these endings, but now I don't know who to blame and who is at fault. The long blood line in the gray picture at the end of the movie streaks across the road, and it is also drawn in my mind. At the beginning, I liked Jin Ji-de, thank Jin Ji-de for using these intense pictures and fiery interrogation to let me know something about human nature, about society, and about love. Although I am still afraid of some love, fortunately, I can still find some courage in your works.
