French life films

Exquisite composition, beautiful photography, can not hide the fact that this is a French life film. It also means lengthy narratives, protracted structures, and scattered perspectives.
It can be seen that the director wants to outline the ukiyo-e of French society with a line-like technique. So everything is light, light, sad but not complaining narrated.
Ex-dancer waiting for heart transplant, taking care of his sister, sister's new boyfriend, new boyfriend's ex-girlfriend, ex-girlfriend's lover, sibling's neighbor - college girl, college girl's boyfriend and lover teacher, teacher's brother and many more. They live, fall in love, suffer, die, or wait for death, and sex, like color photos of French life, presented one by one.
I believe that the French must have a great sympathy for this film.
But! I am not French! ! ! So, I don't have any vibes! ! !
So, while I watched, I had to resist not pressing the fast-forward button.
This kind of film is suitable for watching when you are in love, or watching half of it and then watching it a year or two later. However, it is not worth watching a second time anyway.

It's another film that is clever and is dragged down by a multi-line narrative that is unable to control. Here, you can't see the flashy and quiet Paris, you can't see the natural emotions, and you see the unbalanced and failed literati performed by the actors. Hey, this is not Paris, this is just another crude craft that is slurred but delusional to express love.

This is Paris, you complain about it, but you still love it~ This is life, there are all kinds of joys and sorrows, life and death, and when you are alive, say more love and thank you~

Paris quotes

  • Élise: [in French] You're all alone here? What do you do all day?

Pierre: [in French] Watch other people live. Wonder who they are, where they go? They become hereoes in my little stories.

  • Pierre: [discussing his nieces and nephew] We've gotta be honest and say I'm gonna croak.

    Élise: That's not certain.

Pierre: Then it'll be a nice surprise, if it's not true.
