When the flock of birds fly across the hazy sky, the torrential rain is coming

"The rainstorm is coming, and Zhouqu is ready to deal with it."

When I see news headlines like this on TV, I immediately think of the movie "Heavy Rain is Coming". This unforgettable movie, you have only seen it three times in more than ten years. I want to watch it several times, but I am afraid to watch it. Because the movie is so good, because of the heartache. It's hard to say exactly where it is. In the end where the pain, there is no words to express. At this moment, speechless is better than sound.

The opening sentence of the movie: "When the birds fly across the hazy sky, the people are silent, and my blood ache for waiting..." Indeed, this can strike our fragile hearts. Especially when you have been longing for it for a long time but have no hope. What are you waiting for. Might not be able to tell. Is it the hope to return to life as it is, or the desire to live like a person. Perhaps this statement is too superficial.

The film consists of three parts: "Words, Faces and Photos". Three separate but related stories. An impossible love, a dilemma of living in a foreign country, a fate that was once intimate and then cannibalized.

The church by the quiet lake, the hustle and bustle of the bustling city and the quiet and beautiful remote villages, in the silent fission, gradually broke away from the original trajectory, and each went to find another breakthrough. Yugoslavia is about to enter an eventful period, and it will inevitably be disintegrated. Macedonia is just a part of it, a small and small burst window.

What kind of madness will happen once religious vendetta and national grievances intersect. Once a beautiful family relationship is irretrievably ruthlessly strangled, what good results will there be? This film won the "Golden Lion Award" at the Venice Film Festival in 1994. It is the first feature film of director Mirjo Manchevsky and the first feature film after Macedonia's independence.

Thinking of "The Heavy Rain", will think of Kieszowski's "Two Flowers" (also translated "Veronica's Double Life" · 1991) and Zileman's "Noon" (1952). This is a curious and strange association.

A bit out of bounds. But when you think about it, it's not for granted. Keith, who made "Red, Blue, and White", moved from Poland to Paris to shoot the film. At that time, the situation between the two countries was naturally a mixture of ice and fire. The "freedom, equality and fraternity" he longed for was still very difficult in his homeland. He can only look for similarities in dreams in order to bridge them in reality. And "Noon", which is said to be Clinton's favorite film, pushes Gary Cooper, a lone hero who wants to achieve justice, to the extreme. Even if it is misunderstood, even if it is abandoned, even if death is ahead.

Macedonia, Warsaw, Paris and a small town in the western United States are connected by reversing history from reality, what kind of imaginary space will be produced. It must be infinitely large.

The structure is ingenious. The second paragraph is too functional and a little weak in itself. The three shots have slightly different styles. music is great

The line drawn as a circle is covered with broken flowers, and the time is mottled and intertwined here. Due to human nature, this world is destined to not be peaceful, big wars, small quarrels. Maybe Cold War, maybe death.

Before the Rain quotes

  • Father Marko: Time never dies. The circle is never round.

  • Father Marko: I wanted to take a vow of silence, like you. But this heavenly beauty merits words.
