Early blooming flowers and late blooming flowers

"In my life, some things come too early, and some things come too late." Georgeanna, Duchess of Devonshire, said this to her lover Charles Gray.
When she did not understand love, she was willing to exchange love for the political status of the Devonshire lady; and when she fell in love, she realized that wearing the crown on her head was not as easy as the world imagined.

Charles Gray eventually became British Prime Minister, and Georgiana returned to the glory of the social scene after experiencing a sad but fruitless relationship with him.

For freedom, Georgiana fought and struggled. On the surface, she seems to have lost, to her ruthless husband, to the secular prejudice against women, and to the shackles brought to her by the patriarchal society.
But Georgiana was so brave until she finally appeared as a victor-no matter how authoritative her husband is, she will always be popular.
Although Georgiana's expression at the end of the film looks sad and sad, she is still a strong woman again.

After two relationships, she has a husband who does not love her, and a lover who loves her but cannot be with her.
In the end, no one stayed beside Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire.

Duke of Devonshire?
What he said at the end of the film moved me a little bit. He is not without emotion. His wife has repeatedly demanded "freedom" from him hoarsely. He did not understand the meaning of freedom for women. When he saw outside the window, his daughters were running and playing carefree on the grass. He suddenly turned around and thoughtfully said to Georgiana: "It feels really good to be free like that?"
He is not a ruthless one. My husband, at the end, I think he is actually a very good man. It's just that he didn't marry the woman he really loved.

Charles Gray?
His sense of existence is very weak, and I basically can't feel what he attracts Georgian's attention.
Until finally Georgiana compromised and returned to her husband, he desperately chased after him, hoping to regain the lover-that scene really moved me a little bit.
"I can't abandon my child...think about what you are asking me to do now..." Georgiana said to Gray.
Gray stopped arguing, he left her with a back that suddenly left... the master of this back, eventually became the British Prime Minister.
Although the movie does not explain the changes in Gray's feelings for Georgian years later, I think he must never forget this woman in his life.

Finally, talk about the third person in the film Elizabeth (Beth). The Duke of Devonshire finally fell in love with this woman. I don't hate her, even if she makes Georgiana's situation more embarrassing.
The duke's first seduce, she refused. So Georgiana had a good impression of her.
But Beth accepted the Duke’s second show of goodwill—because she knew that the Duke of Devonshire was the most powerful man in Britain, and he could let her meet her three sons.
"Mother can do anything for the sake of the child." When Georgiana asked Beth, Beth replied. Although she was sorry for her immoral behavior, it was for the child, and she did not hesitate to turn it back.
Later, Georgiana herself understood this feeling. For the child, she finally separated from Charles Gray, and for the child, she returned to the home that she regarded as a cage.
In the end, she was with her, never betrayed her, and the friend who has been with her through crisis after crisis is Elizabeth.
This friendship is really touching.

Some people say that "The Duchess" is not as good as "Elizabeth I, II" and "The Queen of Peerless Beauty", at least I don't think so. "Elizabeth" is not so much like a biography, it is more of an epic, and "The Peerless Queen" is more inclined to the sinking of a woman, rather than bravely facing fate. The three films have different focuses, so they cannot be compared.
Putting aside politics, "The Duchess" is purely from the perspective of women, and portrays the lives of authoritative women under the constraints of the patriarchal society in detail. The whole film lets us know, "She is so glorious, she is so unfortunate, she fought, she loved"...

Even though Georgiana has become a historical figure, under the face of historical writing, there is still such a strong but sad The soul really existed.

The film made me focus on how and why Georgiana became such an important and popular figure in British society.

The clothes, scenery, lighting, and environment are so beautiful. Even people like me who don't like foreign costumes are suddenly attracted. The story is a bit old-fashioned, but it is said that it is a biographical adaptation that makes people feel a lot sad. The rhythm of the story is okay, especially when it comes to the relationship between sisters. Feeling that young people are not energetic enough, it seems that their feelings have become a simple way to escape from political marriage and lack true feelings. The ending is good.
