Understanding of the last few minutes of the movie and the source code system

The following content proposes a hypothesis after watching the movie and it has been completely spoiled:

Basic introduction,
Colt Steven: protagonist, U.S. Captain
Sean Van Trish: history teacher, source code traverser
Goodwin corresponding to the protagonist : The person in charge of contacting the protagonist
Christina: Sean’s friend, sitting next to the protagonist’s crossing point.
Dr. Ratrich: The person who developed the source code system

has seen a total of nine crossings in the movie. The basic situation is as follows: The

first time: Finding her identity, and then the train exploded a
second time: the bomb was found, claiming that the security asked everyone in the carriage to turn off electronic devices, and then the train exploded a
third time: following a person who got off the train halfway, and taking Christina off the train, The train exploded, and finally fell off the rails during the fight. The
fourth time he was hit by the train : he stole a pistol and was handcuffed in the carriage until the train exploded. The
fifth time: I found the meaning of CAOC-N and called Latry. Dr. Qi, Christina told him that he had died two months ago. The captain began to recover part of his memory and lost consciousness until the end of the journey. Although there is no explanation, the possibility of losing consciousness until the train explodes is very high.
The sixth time: passing by, the train finally exploded for the
seventh time: passing by, the train finally exploded for the
eighth time: the person who put the bomb was found and tracked to the parking lot, but he was killed by him, and then the train exploded for the
ninth time : people who plant bombs caught, preventing the train explosion, the source code to the world Goodwin sent a message, a telephone call to his father, in the last eight minutes later to continue living in the source code of the world

before I made after reading the first Two questions to consider:

1. Why can a virtual world composed of eight minutes of memory of the deceased be so complete?

The first explanation of the source code world in the film was after the captain completed the third crossing. Dr. Ratrich appeared and gave him a brief explanation of the source code world: the source code world was reconstructed from the 8-minute residual memory of the deceased .

However, in fact, the captain’s crossing body Sean saw far more than the 8-minute memory that the deceased in the train might have. Can respond to Sean's various behaviors, there is still a large amount of source code content, which should not exist in the memory of the deceased.

For example, Sean once asked a woman on the carriage about the CAOC-N badge during the fifth crossing, and learned that it was a US Air Force base in Nevada. If this woman was reconstructed from her memory only 8 minutes before her death, then she would never know the meaning of the badge, which must mobilize her memories from a long time ago.

Taking a step back, suppose that the source code world consists of all the memories of the deceased, beyond the 8-minute limit. Even so, during the third crossing, the station where the captain tracked the motion sickness should still not appear in the memory of the deceased. The motion sickness got off the car halfway, obviously not one of the dead, and it is impossible for the deceased in the car to know the station. Case. Similarly, during the fifth crossing, the captain called Dr. Rutridge, and the operator answered the phone. This operator should also not exist in the world of source code derived from the memory of the deceased. And the phone call to the captain's father during the last crossing shouldn't exist.

2. Why can the last crossing exceed 8 minutes?

In the introduction of the source code after the third crossing, Dr. Rutridge said with certainty that the source code crossing can only last for 8 minutes, because the system comes from the 8-minute memory of the deceased. After 8 minutes, the system will not be able to maintain it.

Captain: What
will happen in 8 minutes?
What happens after the 8 minutes?

Doctor:
After? Nothing
After? Nothing.
You cease to exist on the train
You cease to exist on the train.
Source world that you can only eight minutes in the presence of
You cannnot exist inside the Source Code, beyond Fentress' 8 minutes.
Source code is not time travel
Source Code is not time travel.
In fact the source code only time and space to reproduce
rather, Source Code is time reassignment.

this is undoubtedly a successful captain and last crossing in contradiction, and carefully consider, third and eighth crossing, also highly dubious:

third crossing Captain chase After getting off the train, the train still exploded because of chasing the wrong person. However, if the prisoner still started the explosion at the wrong time of the train, then at the time of the explosion, the captain’s crossing was over eight minutes, compared to the previous death. The time of the two exploding crossings this time has increased. In fact, if there is no accidental fall on the rails, it is difficult to say whether this crossing will stop by itself.

During the eighth crossing, the captain was shot by the prisoner with a pistol and died shortly after the explosion. Although the time seems to be similar to the previous crossing, after the prisoner hit him, he once said to himself:

Oh, you disturbed My timing is
Oh, you messed up my timing.

Obviously, the time of this explosion is different from the past, and it should be later than the previous few times. This time crossing is likely to exceed the 8-minute limit.

Combining the above two issues, we try to conclude: either the source code is a science fiction film with a lot of loopholes; or there is a problem with our initial assumptions.

Interestingly, the initial assumptions for both questions came from the same point: Dr. Rutridge’s explanation of the captain after the third crossing.

Is Dr. Rutridge reliable for the captain? I think it is obviously unreliable. Obviously, the doctor deceived the captain in at least two places:

1. He said that we can definitely find a substitute for the captain. Some soldiers think this is very good and can still serve the country after death.

The fact is: He admits towards the end of the movie that the captain may be the only person able to operate the source code system.

2. He promised to let the captain die after the mission is completed. The

fact is: he intends to clear the captain's memory and prepare for the next mission.

Well, the doctor concealed or even falsified some content in the source code introduction to the captain. This possibility does exist, such as the two suspicious issues we considered before.

So, what is the truth?

This part of the speculation has begun to move away from the film. It can only be a conjecture, and cannot be proved by the film. I only put forward one of my hypotheses:

if the doctor lied on the two issues mentioned earlier, then his purpose Where is it? These two questions are combined into one sentence, that is, the source code system is a virtual world with only 8 minutes.

Considering the opposite, the real situation may be: the source code is a real parallel world for more than 8 minutes.

Every time the captain returns after crossing, it is because of his death, and this is the only way to bring him back to the real world. Therefore, both the doctor and Goodwin emphasized that the captain should concentrate on finding the suspect in the car and try not to participate in other unrelated matters. This is actually to ensure that the captain can stay in the car during the explosion 8 minutes later and be killed and sent back to the real world.

The doctor lied that the source code is an 8-minute virtual world, which is also another means to prevent the captain from escaping from the train. If the captain learns that he can continue to survive in the source code by avoiding death, it will be miserable compared to his real world. In the circumstances, he might choose to escape the train and continue to live as Sean, and the Doctor lost the only qualified traverser in their hands.

So my conclusion is: The source code system is not a simulation system that is derived from the memory of the deceased for 8 minutes, but a system that can send the traverser into a parallel world. As a researcher, the Ph.D. is undoubtedly a person who knows the inside story, Goode. It is possible that Wen also knew this, but the captain was used in the dark.

An idea from this: every time the captain came back through the crossing, he could see the blurry image, and finally proved that this was the scene he saw after the last time he and Christina got off the train. This may be due to the fact that he saw an image of a parallel world in the future at a certain time in the process of passing through the parallel world.

It was said to start plagiarizing this movie, so I watched it. Except in the car (train, bus), cycle, do not see anything the same. I feel that the male protagonist is too casual to find the bomb, is it because he has been on the battlefield, so it is so easy to find? Hollywood blockbusters like to have open endings, which make people more imaginative and may leave a way out for the second film. In addition to the novelty of the subject matter, it is impossible to see that it can exceed 8 points

The rhythm of the plot - this year is almost invincible~~~ The creativity is not very complete and careful, and the plot is not too scrutinized, but it is really exciting to have such actors, dialogues and entertainment! Fart ass: Russell Peters is a bit of a joke~ Indians are not terrorists~~ Also, can't you give him a little more drama? ! ~~

  • Christina Warren: I think you broke his jaw.

Colter Stevens: It's okay, he's not any more real than you are.

Christina Warren: I'm not real? How about next time you drive to work?

Colter Stevens: It's not gonna be a next time.

  • Colleen Goodwin: [about the Source Code program] The program wasn't designed to alter the past. It was designed to affect the future.
