The Haunting

The Haunting is not a film about horror events. There are no monsters, bloody, and frightening special effects. In other words, this is a very pure psychological horror film, which explores the state of our consciousness when faced with something beyond our imagination. Those unknowable areas are on the fringes of our imagination. This state has nothing to do with our own cultural cultivation. As Dr. John Markway explained: "A closed heart is the least effective resistance to the supernatural. You may think that you are civilized enough not to protect yourself from those evil things. But even prehistoric humans There are also many practical ways to resist this evil." Because the whole building is the focus of discussion. It naturally has many unique places. The person who built this house is a weird person, who doesn't like to associate with others and hates tradition. So all the doors can be closed slowly and automatically when it is closed. The rooms are not square, and each wall is slightly off. Indeed, the architectural space has changed the way people live. Provides the background for the occurrence of supernatural events. But what is in the room, "It may just be a few loose floors, or a key to another world."

I admire the director Robert Wise for being able to perform the two styles of "Haunted Mansion" and "The Sound of Music." A very different movie. But the commonality may lie in the understanding and use of music. The soundtrack played an important role in "Haunted Mansion", including the use of silence, sometimes silence is better than sound. In "Haunted Mansion", the so-called "ghost" has never appeared in the camera, but I have always been in a relatively nervous state, because the most terrifying thing is what we don't know.
