Looks a bit like Brian in Placebo

An incredible music video.
An East German boy, Hedwig, indulged in homosexual love with American soldiers. For the sake of love and more freedom, after an unsuccessful sex reassignment operation, he finally came to the United States with Dabing. He didn't want the soldiers to empathize soon, Hedwig could only find comfort in music in despair. Occasionally, he met Tommy, a young teenager, but unfortunately the incomplete Hedwig was destined to be unable to have a complete love. He once desperately sought a chance to avenge Tommy who betrayed him, but finally realized it. When all the noise fell into silence, he walked into the distance naked in the dark...
"Hedwig and the Angry Inch" was actually adapted from Broadway's musical, so the structure of the film is not strict, a bit like a musical. Sex, but it highlights the role of music in the film. Several songs are very narrative, and they are completely portrayal of the protagonist's life. The first theme song "The Origin Of Love" accompanied by the animation reminds me of Cui Jian's live performance during Midi, but compared to the originality of Lao Cui’s egg, the meaning of "The Origin Of Love" is more profound. Much more. The lyrics are based on Plato's "Feast", which is probably the source of the so-called Platonic love, "True love is born in the unchanging soul, and those who fall in love with the beauty of the soul fall in love with eternity."
The film’s music has an obvious Glam Rock color. The protagonist has to make up and dress up in almost every scene, showing the beauty of femininity to the fullest, and he constantly pays tribute to Lou Reed, David Bowie and others in the film. What is more surprising is the gender dislocation of the actors in the film. Of course, John Cameron Mitchell, who plays Hedwig, doesn’t need to talk about it. The unshaven dude in the film (a bit like the blind man in "A Westward Journey"...) is actually a woman, really. Shocked as a god. John Cameron Mitchell is such a genius, he can write, direct, sing and sing himself. With his wig removed, he looks a bit like Brian in Placebo, which is really yin and yang. By the way, Michael Pitt, the actor who played Tommy in the film, became Kurt Cobain in "Last Days" a few years later... it was surprising.
Now I am watching the OST of the film, it is really amazing... I give 7 points for the film and 9 points for the music.

I admire the music in the movie. The lyrics part is a typical narrative type, with both images and representations. I admire the almighty director, who has done a great job in everything. How did he who was implicit in his life become the unrestrained her in the movie?

I cried a few times, it was wonderful. A 90-minute LGBT rock music movie can also achieve an epic look and feel. Apart from the awesomeness of writing, directing, acting and singing, just looking at the frank and unpretentious interpretation of the images of history, family, encounter, love, injury, revival, confusion, cognition, life, etc. 20 years ago, it is beyond. Today there are many works that seem similar but superficial. The movie calmly tells you the origin of Hegwid, the meaning of one angry inch, and how he continues to survive in the environment or in his own encounters, and the empathy as an audience has been established from the very beginning. Self-help in the face of adversity, persistence in dreams, devotion to love and a sober attitude have become textbooks for many people.
