Famous works + famous actors = highly recommended

Yes, after watching Rush’s cast introduction, I changed the four stars to 5. It turns out that he is the Captain Barbosa in the Pirates of the Caribbean! He is a pianist! He is still the teacher in the king's speech!

These 4 characters are completely different, so I didn't expect this bad guy to be a distinctive character in several other plays.

The other leading actors are also amazing. Neeson’s role as Jean Valjean, who is strong in body and baptized in spirit, is more visible than Jean Valjean in the image of old workers in the other tragic worlds. Of course, Uma Thurman is also an excellent actor. It's too much but the same, it makes you willing to continue watching.

The other two young actors are also great, with unfamiliar names, but their faces have been seen in many movies. In the same way, these factors make you willing to read it again if you are already too familiar with a masterpiece, to find freshness, and to find things you didn't experience before.

This time I saw it and realized that this is a movie that promotes the spirit of Christ, which is very meaningful. Jean Valjean stole the priest's silver spoon and stunned him, but the priest gave him a silver candlestick again and said to him: From this moment on, I will buy you from the devil and give you to the Lord. At the end of the film, he did the same for the villain whose life goal was to catch him.

Maybe it's a coincidence that I watched SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION again before, when people were detained, stereotyped, and the long years, how people suffered or changed.

The miserable world is a masterpiece, of course, because of its background. The French Revolution, Paris. . . . All these make me want to read the original carefully again.

Collect the pen and go to the book!

@Souvenir_de_Florence This is the '98 movie version where Javert just cuffed his hands and jumped into the river. Apparently in the 2013 version, the director was cruel to him

It is really difficult to stuff such a grand novel into a 2-hour movie. Jean Valjean's image is relatively full, Javert is worse, and the death is quite abrupt. It's a pity that Thenardier's role was not added, so I understand that the role of Little Gavroche is almost a brushstroke. This version did not feel the contradictions and conflicts in the novel, and it was quite a failure.

Les Misérables quotes

  • Javert: What did you say? Speak up, people don't mumble when they speak to me.

  • Javert: It's a pity the law doesn't allow me to be merciful.
