Immortality: where there is justice, there is evil

"Where there is evil, there is justice", this is the "creed" of almost every superhero movie. They always simultaneously create two roles that compete with each other, one righteous and one evil. Perhaps superheroes are unrealistic, but the concepts contained in these movies, namely, the opposition between good and evil, and good and evil, do exist in our society all the time. Evil always breeds in our lives from time to time, so we use kindness and justice to fight against it, and finally we may be able to defeat it.

However, the term "antagonism" has already indicated its dual confrontation, and the opposition between good and evil is also two sides. The so-called "where there is evil, there is justice" is simply a simple point from justice to the unilateral side of evil. Justice opposes evil, and evil also opposes justice. In other words, evil accomplishes justice. Where there is justice, there is evil.

Two days ago, I watched Kieslowski’s "Momicide Short Film". It mentioned that the purpose of the law is not to prevent crime, but to punish the perpetrator. In other words, it is the crime that maintains the law that is the opposite of it. When looking at the law from this context, the law is no longer pure. The same is true for justice and evil.

In "The Undead", Shamaran has been trying to construct duality from all aspects. The most obvious point in the film is David, who never gets sick or injured, and Elia, who is extremely fragile. They are undoubtedly two. The best representative of Yuan opposition, but Shamaran did not stop there. The ultimate opposition he wanted to build was the opposition between good and evil, righteous and evil. When David finally learned the truth about Elijah, this heavy opposition, It is perfectly presented. Let me briefly analyze how the director constructs this opposition through the play (note that the opposition between good and evil constructed by Shamaran in the film is more from evil to justice, which is the article of this article. The title, where there is justice, there is evil, and evil makes justice):

1. From the beginning to the end of the film, before the truth is revealed, the film shows only the process of David gradually accepting his abilities. The truth about Elijah is not known until the last moment. In other words, the image of justice comes first. We only know that there is a righteous character in the film, and the opposite evil character does not appear. In chronological order, justice precedes evil, and the image of justice The established role is absent.

2. David’s discovery and acceptance of his abilities was promoted by Elijah, that is, the birth of a righteous character was facilitated step by step by an evil character (a person has not lived for a few decades) It is not logical to find that I have these abilities, but this is a small sacrifice made by Shamaran for the plotting of the plot. David can only be unaware of his abilities, so that Ilea can discover them) .

3. David is a hero, but behind him are countless innocent lives that were sacrificed (isn’t that ironic enough)

What the director wants to express is often hidden behind the stories and images, but the audience’s feelings are intuitive. When all our pre-established views, opinions, and feelings based on the image of David are at the end When the moment of reversal crashed, the director's goal was justified.

Finally, choose a few places to briefly talk about Shamaran’s extraordinary lens language.

1. In the dialogue scene between David and the lady next to him on the train, through repeated panning, through the gap between the seats in front of the two people, the two characters will always appear alone in the screen to show David and The difficulty of integrating into the environment portrays his inner sadness and loneliness.

2. Elijah was born, young, and adult for the first time in the mirror, implying its opposition to the real world.

3. When Elijah was a teenager, he got the comic book for the first time. The comic book in the subjective lens was upside down. Afterwards, Elija turned the comic into the right direction, but the lens rotated in the opposite direction to keep the comic book upside down. For Leia, there is a misalignment of good and evil.

4. David and Elia were talking on the stadium, the camera slowly pulled back to appear as a long narrow and dark corridor, and then the dialogue ended David walking into the corridor, indicating that David was about to face a full-filled corridor. The road of evil and darkness.

The ending is nice. Without Price, David would never have been aware of his superpowers, so is even Price a psychopath? Maybe his understanding of the world is too simple, thinking that he only wants to divide human beings into good and bad as in the comics, so he is so persistent in finding a good person, and would rather be a big bad guy himself. Come to think of it, he's actually pretty great.

The first half is really a master's design and scheduling, the second half of the play is weak and can't stand up.
