I saw this film because of academic reasons. At first it seemed like a farce. I even thought it was ridiculous. However, it was a ridiculous farce that eventually plunged the entire town into a human crisis and claimed 19 lives. Until a minute before the end, I was still hoping for the appearance of miracles and the salvation of the dusted souls, but the reality is often cruel. It allows us to reflect on many things. Even if we do not discuss the McCarthyism that it alludes to, it still allows us to reflect on our beliefs and humanity, what we should stick to, whether we want to stand up in time, dare to admit our mistakes...
Suddenly remembered The Boston Jewish Holocaust Memorial in the United States is inscribed with short poems left by Martin Nimora, a German Protestant priest, to encourage each other.
When the Nazis came to catch communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they imprisoned social democrats,
I remained silent;
I am not a social democrat.
When they came to arrest union members,
I did not protest;
I was not a union member.
When they came to arrest the Jews,
I remained silent;
I was not a Jew.
When they came to catch me,
no one could speak for me.
