Original anxiety about eternity

Milan Kundera has a novel called Immortality, which is about people's anxiety about eternity. People are eager to break through the limitations of life to reach eternity, polish their own name, shine like a diamond in the dark night, what is behind the pursuit of the eternity of the name? Behind it is the eternal relationship between the author and the work. It is said that only the work has the power to pass down the world, and the author hides behind the scenes after the completion of the work. Goethe created Faust Qianxing. After the performance, no one cared about Faust, but stared at Goethe and his late lover Bettina. Lace news between time. Goethe also knew the purpose of Bettina's unpredictable love. He said: Love is the gun in your hand, aiming at the immortality behind me. How can the most unknown in history represented by Bettina reach eternity? One is through addition, dividing boundaries and emphasizing differences in order to increase recognition, and the two through subtraction, eliminating all differences to achieve eternity in common. The latter example is Agnes. When she was young, the gesture of turning and waving at the pool remained in the mind of a stranger. After decades of age, the girl’s turning and waving gesture remained unchanged. Be recognized in the crowd. Agnes gains immortality by being used by eternal actions.

Speaking of this book because "Immortal" raises questions and answers. "Holy Mountain" raises the same question, but says nothing.

Where did the image of the early god of religion come from? The thief who looks like Jesus and the toad-like dwarf go hand in hand. They play and smoke together. The thief also imitates the unsound dwarf and jumps like a toad. Indulge in a world of paganism and enjoyment, carnival, and indulge in drinking. The lazily lying lizards, toads and tortoises on the white Mayan pyramid model were stained red with blood.

At the rally, the thief was tempted to carry the cross and then was drunk with strong alcohol. The false virgin wearing a blue silk scarf embraces the unconscious thief. The composition coincides with the classic religious scene "Mourning of the Virgin", but the corner of the mouth is mocking. His smile implies a thief being exploited without knowing it.

"Mourning of the Virgin"

He was then randomly thrown into a heap of sweet potatoes. The thief who woke up from a hangover found himself lying among countless models of his own. He was furious, flogged his accomplices, destroyed the model, leaving only one, and kissed the same face as him in the ruins.

The thief picked up his model and met a group of prostitutes on the street. The prostitute holding the orangutan fell in love with the thief at first sight. She kissed his cheek, stroked his model, and scrubbed his muddy feet. I guess she was implying Maria Magdalene, because the prostitute appeared in red afterwards. In religious paintings, Maria Magdalene was also dressed in red.

"Jesus Christ Appears Before Maria Magdalene"

He hung the model in the unmanned church. The priest was sleeping soundly with the original stone Jesus, and when he was awakened, he also ridiculed the thief from the church. So the thieves watched the evil children and prostitutes, tied the statue to the sky with balloons. The bladder is not eternal.

A hook was hung from the blood-colored Tower of Babel. Seeing that there was gold on the hook, the thief climbed up without hesitation and went to the tower to find wealth.

This is the residence of the warlock, and his only external communication is the fish hook that hangs on time and carries gold for trade. The thief wanted to assassinate the humanoid god, but was easily subdued by the warlock using acupuncture points and Chinese kung fu (??). The warlock operated on the thief and pulled out a huge toad from the back of his neck. Here is the ugly part of human nature that people don't want to admit. After that, the warlock baptized the thief and refined the thief's stool into gold. The mirror appeared, and the thief knew himself for the first time. He panicked and smashed the mirror with gold. Wealth is not eternal.

So the warlock took the thief to the obelisk (the stone with soul), and the thief easily smashed the stone that could not be broken with an axe. The warlock took out the crystal ball from it. Enter the Tarot world and explore the eternity of life . (Anyway, the design of this part of the installation is simply amazing)

Counting the thieves, the warlock had nine disciples at this time. In the secular world under the tower, they were entrepreneurs, politicians, producing war toys, mass-producing art, providing economic advice to the empire, acting as religious leaders, and so on. They have rights and money, but they cannot escape death. The correspondence between planets, tarot cards, and disciples is as follows (they appear in order from the nearest to the farthest distance from the sun):

Venus: Queen's card. Fern, who produces the comfort and beauty of the human body, his mother is a mummy that looks like Coco Chanel, with pearls on her neck. He produces fake faces and limbs to satisfy people's self-imagination.

Mars: Tower card. Isla, a woman who looks like a man in a patriarchal society. The sixteenth-century painting "Sisters Gary Bouelle Trisley" hangs in the bedroom. This painting is a pair of sister lovers of French King Henry IV. Isla also has two female companions. She produces weapons, hard weapons such as cancer-causing gases and bacteria, as well as psychedelic shotguns, rock and roll weapons, guns with Buddha statues for Buddhists, and guns for Christians.

Jupiter: Wheel of Fortune card. Koren, an artist, produces art through sexual expression every week, including butt seals, living installations, and the birth of robot offspring through machine climax, mass production of labor.

Saturn: World card. Saul is a toy manufacturer and a war toy manufacturer. If a war is to be launched, she will carry out ideological reforms such as "hate for three minutes" on the children in advance, so that they can kill the enemy without pain when they grow up.

Uranus: Fool's card. Borg, who provided financial advice to the empire, was manipulated but was helpless. His motion to revitalize the economy is to kill people and reduce the population.

Neptune: The Hanger Card. Exxon, the chief of the police, castrated the people, abused torture, and carried out homicide bills.

Pluto: Judgment card. Root, architect and prison designer, allows people to live in alloy coffins, limiting living comfort and reducing costs.

There is no Mercury, the planet closest to the sun, and no Earth. I guess the warlock holds the position of Mercury in it, and the thief represents the earth.

Looking back at the lizards, toads and tortoises at the beginning of the movie, as well as the officers wearing Nazi emblems in the parade, the women in vulgar clothes, the violence and pornography that can be seen everywhere, and the blood flowing on the pyramid model and the subsequent explosions. It is the projection of the world under the tower of the nine people in the Tower of Babel.

The warlock constructs the world above the Tower of Babel, and the theme of the holy mountain appears . Nine saints live on the top of the sacred mountain and master the secret of immortality. The purpose of the sorcerer is to lead the nine disciples to the holy mountain to kill the saints, and to gain eternity instead.

Before leaving, the disciples with huge wealth sat around the table, first burned the wealth, and then burned their own models. The thief still had greed and didn't want to throw all the money into the fire pit, but was discovered by the warlock. Amidst the roar of laughter, the thief took out the last money from his sleeve and threw it into the fire pit.

On the way to the sacred mountain, the warlock cupped the disciples (??), asked them to run among the flowers, and the soup boiled with the green grass, to perform various rituals, to forget themselves, to perceive nature, and to achieve resonance with the universe. In one of the rituals, ten people counted the number, looking for the "missing" tenth person in the mirror in the water. There is no doubt that they reached a consensus in this vote, denying the thieves the right to obtain immortality, and then they buried the pot and mirror.

The thief is unknown, so he still insists on going to the holy mountain. On the bumpy sea, the warlock found that the thief was still uncertain, and peeled the illusion of a toad dwarf from his mind. Under the pressure of the warlock, the dwarf was thrown into the sea. At this point, all the original ugliness of the thief has been stripped away.

The prostitute in red followed behind the warlock’s ship in a canoe with the orangutan. What the warlock did, she imitated everything they did.

Screenshot-Prostitutes who follow the thief

During the climb, everyone has hallucinations, sexual fantasies are used in all kinds of extremes, the chest becomes a leopard head, grease is applied to the face, and the mountain is rubbed to masturbate during rock climbing ("your fear makes you stop"), but No mention of thieves’ desires. Only the original ugliness of the thief is stripped away.

Upon reaching the top of the mountains, the prostitute also arrived. The warlock let the thief go because the prostitute loved him. So the thief left. At this time there were eight disciples left. The sorcerer asked the disciples to kill him. The sword fell. The lamb that died was the symbol of Jesus in religious paintings. The disciple with the knife smiled at each other with the warlock.

So the eight disciples went up the mountain, only to find that the saint sitting in the distance was nothing more than a pile of puppets wearing cloaks. The warlocks were dressed like puppets. They talked about a pile of chicken soup for the soul, and the camera zoomed out, saying don’t believe what you see in front of them. Everything is just a movie, there is no immortality or eternity . But at this time only the sorcerer and the eight disciples were sitting, and eternity certainly did not belong to them. At this time, the thief was already flying high with the prostitutes who followed him all the way . Does it belong to these two escapees forever ?

The film’s discussion of eternity is more in the form of denials. Religion is not eternal, politics is not eternal, art is not eternal, war is not eternal, money is not eternal, tempest and patience is not eternal, indulgence is not eternal, kindness is not eternal, and ugly nature is not eternal. These negative sentences are presented through countless symbolic metaphors, and the airtightness makes people breathless. The positive answer to eternity is only a vague image: a prostitute who crosses the mountains with love at first sight without saying a word. The thief is attached to the love of the prostitute to lead to immortality. They escaped from the end of this iconic film. There is an unavoidable question: Are they also used by the eternal action of love, leading to immortality ? This makes people think of hippies in the 70s who believed that love and peace could resist war. The town at the foot of the sacred mountain was full of people who swallowed LSD pills and alcoholics. Birds flew out of their wounds. They were bleeding with colored blood. They were so naive and almost shameful, but they thought they were already a part of eternity ("I I have crossed the sacred mountain horizontally, I am the champion, I don't care about the top").

But as soon as this question is spoken, it is like stamping the film: proclaiming love is an eternal love film. However, it has never been seen that the thief loves prostitutes. The prostitute’s love at first sight is totally inexplicable. The thief cringes and acts almost like an animal by instinct, completely ignorant of the point of love at first sight. The film denies all possible existences about eternity, but does not answer the question directly. No matter how many symbols, it only exposes the guilty conscience.

1973 movie. Inside the master hangs a fourth "nine palace map" on his chest, and the nine seekers are the representatives of the nine constellations. The content is almost a diagram of some thoughts in the fourth channel. At the end, there is a bit of Zen too.

Forget it, because I won't continue to watch it... It's actually quite interesting, but is it interesting to be satirical?
