"Love" and mind control

Mind control in the name of "love"-this is the theme I see in this drama.

Both sides of the contradiction: Dee Dee, the instigator of mind control, and Gypsy, the victim. The first two episodes are basically the brainwashing effect of the applicator, and the relationship between the two parties is stable and harmonious. In the third or fourth episode, the victim began to have consciousness of awakening. The fifth and sixth episodes are the climax of resistance. The last two episodes further describe the characteristics of this relationship through recall.

The last two episodes are more confusing, because Gypsy's attitude towards Dee Dee is erratic, which makes people wonder whether she regrets or is hypocritical. I don't think Gypsy himself knows, just like all people who have been brainwashed by this kind of "love", it is difficult to sort out their conflicting feelings for the perpetrator.

My favorite is the three or four episodes: Gypsy saw the dawn of being rescued with the help of a doctor for the first time, but when faced with the doctor’s individual questioning, the first reaction was to explain that Dee Dee did this to love himself, and to help Dee Dee do it. This kind of control behavior is rationalized (and the whole film has been doing this all the time), and at the same time, he is full of fear of the doctor's rescue behavior. This scene captures the characteristics of this relationship very well. When the mind-controlled party just awakens consciousness and realizes that this control may not be "love", it often falls into this kind of self-blame, feeling that the idea of resistance is self-love and self-destruction, and I am sorry for the person who exerts mind control. , Has let down the "love" of the other party, and has become accustomed to self-control after long-term brainwashing.

This relationship is not only common in parents and children, but also in various forms of organizations, and even something bigger. It's just that when the victims are in a group that supervises each other and strengthens each other's concept of "love", the process of resistance will be more difficult.
