See how Polanski interprets "loyal to the original"

It is considered a fan of Dickens, but this OT is one of the masterpieces that I have never read a word in anyway.

Roman Polanski's own bloody and mysterious life experience is more interesting to me than his works. He can actually turn Brodie, who has a very happy face, into a sad pianist with the words "World War II" engraved on his face, and he can really be regarded as a master.

So I watched Oliver Twist in different time periods anyway.

Poor Polanski's youngest son. His father, in his 70s, suddenly wanted to make a movie for the children. So he worked so hard to produce a children's film that may be the most tragic except for "San Mao Wanderings" in history.

Because he meticulously restored the dark, damp, dirty, public-security, lower-level London market described by Dickens, so meticulous that the delicately selected Oliver Twist could hardly be believed to be able to survive.

Bring a little extra to say about this little actor. It's incredible. Most of the time acting in a silent way reminds me of Christian Bale's grievance and tenacious state of existence in the Solar Empire. For harsh external pressures, most of them adopt an attitude of resignation. But that gleaming nature made people couldn't help but admire this crystal-clear child.

The cry of Ben Kinsley before his execution was very shocking. In addition, most of the time, I was moved by Ovlier Twist's quiet and terribly wronged "Yes, sir" again and again.

There are no more than three scenes with sun rays in the whole film. This is a movie made for children, but it is by no means a children's movie. Polanski is an old Chinese medicine doctor. No matter what prescription is given, he always prescribes a long, painful decoction. Only this time, he added a happy ending in the morning sun, which made people breathe a sigh of relief.

Oliver Twist quotes

  • Artful Dodger: I suppose you've been walkin so long on the beak's order?

    Oliver Twist: What's that?

Artful Dodger: Don't you know what a beak is?

    Oliver Twist: It's a bird's mouth isn't it?

Artful Dodger: [laughs] You are green. A beak's a magistrate, where have you been all your life?

  • Fagin: [watching Dodger and Nancy play cards] Lovely life isn't it my dear?

    Oliver Twist: Yes, sir

Bet: Sir? You know who you're talking to, do ya?

    Charley Bates: [laughs]
