Extremely uncomfortable.

I tried my best not to comment too much on the concept of the past, but this film still made me extremely uncomfortable.

In my simple understanding, this is the story of the elders trying their best to let the girl in the family marry the rich family and let the family shine. In fact, no matter whether the male protagonist appears or not, the ending of the story will not change. The ultimate goal of the female protagonist is to marry a rich man. Women are nothing but a bargaining chip for goods.

I think it’s even more ironic that gigi is a girl who is immaterial and does not worship money. She rejected the male protagonist because she felt that she would be restrained and criticized in the future, but the film satirized the female protagonist’s refusal and said it out. I promised money, servants, cars, houses, etc. to make her life better, and so on, she actually refused me (more funny, the cousin who talked with the hero? The answer is that their family is very strange, and I was with gigi. My grandmother was together and was kicked out of the house after only cheating once, I???).

What the male protagonist likes has always been the characteristics of immature girls, ignorant and naive, and women begin to show maturity and their understanding and admiration of the material world. He is unhappy...

In short, the experience of watching movies is extremely poor, and the content conveyed by the director is always diluted by his own description and self-contradictory. Except for the beautiful composition of the picture, everything else makes me uncomfortable.

The second question, how did this get the Oscar? Some people seem to complain about the song, but I think it's quite interesting, especially the heroine's songs, which are cute and smart. But what story is this? Isn't this the American version of Little Times? ? In the early stage, Gigi's unique, smart and cute foreshadowing was incompatible with the upper-class rules of my aunt. I thought it was a social criticism, but I started to love. When Gigi rejected the male protagonist, I thought it was a feminist criticism. he has married? ? I? ? ? ? ? ? ? What's the point of this kind of self-deceiving HE who hides his ears and steals bells. However, it is quite feminist from the analysis outside the play. In "My Fair Lady", the male professor trains the vulgar lower-class women into ladies to satisfy himself. Here the playboy is looking for the so-called freshness brought by innocence in Gigi. What kind of woman is good? It depends on what kind of woman a man wants. In the end, Gigi no longer jumped around in a kilt, but sat in a carriage with her skirt on. A fresh girl was wiped out by gold worship and male power.

I watched it when I was a kid, but I didn't understand it. I was too young at that time...I just remember that the male lead was very good-looking, so I loved beautiful men since I was a child...Is there anything the female lead is super contrived when crying.

Gigi quotes

  • [singing]

Honore Lachaille: Poor boy! Poor boy! / Downhearted and depressed and in a spin! / Poor boy! Poor boy! / Oh, youth can really do a fellow in! How lovely to sit here in the shade / with none of the woes of man and maid / I'm glad I'm not young anymore... The rivals that don't exist at all / The feeling you're only two feet tall / I'm glad that I'm not young anymore... / No more confusion / No morning-after surprise / No self-delusion / That when you're telling those lies / she isn't wise / And even if love comes through the door / the chance that goes on forevermore / Forevermore is shorter than before / Oh, I'm so glad that I'm not young anymore... / The tiny remark that tortures you / The fear that your friends won't like her too / I'm glad I'm not young anymore... / The longing to end the stale affair / until you find out she doesn't care / I'm glad I'm not young anymore... / No more frustration / No star-crossed lover am I / No aggravation / Just one reluctant reply / "Lady, goodbye!" The Fountain of Youth is dull as paint / Methuselah is my patron saint / I've never been so comfortable before / Oh, I'm so glad that I'm not young anymore...

  • [Gigi prepares for her night with Gaston]

Gigi: Say a prayer for me tonight / I'll need every prayer that you can spare / To get me by... Say a prayer / And while you're praying, keep on saying / "She's much too young to die..." "On to your Waterloo," whispers my heart / Pray I'll be Wellington, not Bonaparte... Oh, say a prayer for me this evening / Bow your head, and please stay on your knees / Tonight...
