Some thoughts on the birth of a country

The idea of writing a film review came up halfway through the movie. It is a masterpiece that can evoke a lot of thinking.

First of all, I suggest that you turn off the barrage when you are watching the movie. Everyone understands the reason. There are always some brainless or brainless talk in it, which greatly affects the perception.

Thinking of this film from different angles can draw many different conclusions, and it can be played safely here, the reviewers must have their intentions. In my opinion, the reviewers want to convey this through the film more. idea:

1. War is cruel, we must support peace.

2. The United States is chaotic, and the electoral system has been full of loopholes from the beginning.

3. The tradition of racial discrimination in the United States has a long history.

4. Separation means war and killing. Supporting unification is the right way.

Of course, I also have a lot of my own interpretations of movies.

First of all, the biggest impression is: the original black fate movement has already existed. In the film, the various lewd behaviors of blacks in the South Carolina State House, the blacks in the villages and towns during the Confederate Army's operations, and the assassination of President Lincoln. A series of radical actions by blacks during Lynch’s power, and even speculative politicians did not hesitate to lick the dog in order to get black votes until they finally affected themselves. These scenes are exactly the same as today’s gangster events in the United States. I say this is not the case. In order to reprimand, it is just an objective statement. There may be many deep-seated reasons, so I won’t repeat them here. I have the following thoughts on the video:

1. It is mentioned in the film that war is a hotbed of hatred. In fact, to a certain extent, hatred is also a hotbed of war. The two constitute a vicious circle. This is a saying of our ancients, when is the retaliation? But looking at human history, or even just looking at our Chinese history, you will find that war is the nature of human beings. In our five thousand years of culture, there are countless battles like the Civil War, either for power or for survival or for profit. We have been fighting non-stop, with countless casualties. To this day, the war seems to have stopped, and it seems that war will come at any time. On the topic of war, my opinion is that war is cruel, we should embrace peace and cherish peace, but If war is unavoidable, then the best result is that it can push mankind into a civilized society step by step, instead of squandering in wars, getting rid of one war and ushering in another war, always in the infinite in oppression and resistance. Circulation, from one dynasty to another, from one type of oppression to another, this kind of war is meaningless, at best it provides some people with an ascending ladder, changing their lives. To a certain extent, the United States ended slavery through the Civil War and established a federal state of separation of powers based on the Christian faith. Although it has experienced some minor setbacks afterwards, it is generally stepping into a civilized society. From this point of view, this battle and sacrifice are worthwhile. It has resulted in a gradually sound country, which can be regarded as a kind of progress in the history of human civilization.

2. Regardless of whether it is left or right, it essentially has its own advantages and disadvantages, but when radical ideas are added to it, it becomes extreme left and extreme right, and extreme left or extreme right are poisons, harming the people and not benefiting the people. The country, Stoneman in the film is a living example. Under the influence of its radical policies, the South entered chaos. Blacks and whites oppose each other. Originally, what was needed after the war was love and repair. President Lincoln tried to take this path. He is committed to promoting North-South peace, the dissolution of racism, and the peaceful coexistence of blacks and whites. However, some of his actions violated the interests of some politicians and ended up being assassinated, but this does not prevent him from becoming a historical man. A great president, kind, generous, minded, courageous and insightful. On the other hand, Stoneman is more of a speculative politician. His own interests are higher than the interests of the country. In order to win elections, he arbitrarily empowered blacks in the South, suppressed whites, and finally reaped the consequences. He used black people as a tool, but in the end this tool became inadequate and even endangered his own interests. This is similar to many embarrassing situations in the United States today. Such people are not patriotic, but just love what they have. Power and interest.

3. Speculation and killing cannot solve the problem. It will only breed hatred and killing repeatedly. Only love and faith can dissolve wars and bring peace and development. This is also in line with the founding of a country built on the Christian faith. Ideas, but sometimes they are biased.

The above is a little bit of my own thoughts. The film still has a lot of tenderness or points worth thinking about, such as the choice of love and friendship in war, the definition of compatriots, unity, etc. In the birth of this country, I have experienced many setbacks, but in the end Being able to embark on the road of freedom and federation is also a miracle of human civilization. The interpretation of the film is purely from a personal perspective. Maybe the film is not intended to convey this. Maybe many people’s views are different, but it’s just me. Some thoughts after watching the movie, don’t spray if you don’t like it.

  • intertitle: A PLEA FOR THE ART OF THE MOTION PICTURE / We do not fear censorship, for we have no wish to offend with improprieties or obscenities, but we do demand, as a right, the liberty to show the dark side of wrong, that we may illuminate the bright side of virtue - the same liberty that is conceded to the art of the written word - the art to which we owe the Bible and the works of Shakespeare.
